A LinkedIn user who goes by the name Kaisar Hamid shared a heartwarming video of a mother shaving her daughter, who is a cancer patient’s hair and ended up shaving her own hair also in solidarity. She purposely did it to make her daughter feel better or happy. The daughter could not hold her tears in the video.
That’s a great mom. Well done.
Yes noble but done many times before, just not advertised at Social Cespools
Sorry this is news how? Thousands of people do this.
I hope she donated her hair for a wig. It is important.
There's a cute commercial in which a guy asks a cancer stricken girl to the prom after he shaved his head.
My wife went through some intense chemotherapy in 1996-97 and her hair fell out. We ordered a wig for her in her exact hairstyle before it fell out. No one ever saw her going around bald. If they knew she was fighting cancer, they told he how great she looked. My wife felt (and I agree) that it is not encouraging for a patient to go around with a chemo-induced bald head. People you meet are going to see you and instead of "you look great!", you're going to see an expression like "aaww, poor soul, must be dying of cancer..."
Have never been a fan of this. It doesn’t change anything. Many better ways of showing support. People may feel better doing this, but it isn’t going to last more than a couple of weeks. The person undergoing chemo is still going to have cancer.
I have a cancer that may require chemo at some point in the future. I will not allow my wife, nor anyone else, to shave their head in “support” of me. It would not change the fact that I still have cancer.
The vast majority of young people that lose their hair due to cancer treatments have their confidence and self-esteem shattered.
To have a typically vain and fashion-conscious mother shave her head to show how much she loved me??? Priceless!
But that's just me...
