Former Ohio governor John Kasich, in an interview with CNN anchor Don Lemon, suggested some Trump supporters “are redeemable.”
Kasich (R), who unsuccessfully ran against former President Trump in 2016 and endorsed Joe Biden in 2020, suggested to Lemon that supporters must confess their sins before being welcomed back into the fold.
In other words, confess that the Capitol riots were as bad as the media portrays and the whole event is all Trump’s fault.
“Honestly, Don, what we have to ask ourselves are, who’s redeemable?” he said. “Who we bring over to say this is — this is just wrong. This never happened this way.”
“And we’ve got to figure out how to talk to some of those people and reach them, Don, and get them back.”
“Some of them are redeemable. I can tell you they are. And you know that some of them are, don’t you?” Kasich continued. “You’ve met them. They’ve gone up to you and said, ‘Lemon, you’re right.'”

For his part, Lemon wasn’t buying the notion that some Trump supporters are redeemable, as John Kasich suggests.
“How do you reason with unreasonable people?” he asked.
“No matter how many times you show them video of Trump supporters and people – hundreds – 150 or so, or close to it, who have been arrested from the Capitol … that is not living in reality,” Lemon added.
“Why would you even want to reason with those people?”
‘Not living in reality’ is Lemon, who is super-despondent over what happened at the Capitol but denied the reality of leftist-led race riots over the summer.
Lemon suggested rioters setting cities ablaze in the name of racial justice were comparable to American revolutionaries.

If Bill Buckley were alive, he would flush out Lowry and Williamson like last night’s colostomy bag.
These people have outlived their 15 minutes. Trump was the most conservative president in a long time, and they need to admit it or go into therapy.
Buckley was attacked for backing Reagan early on, not by Democrats but by the establishment country club Republicans who hated him. They thought Reagan was a right wing knuckle dragging idiot and psycho commie hater. The same memes arise in the attack on Trump, done by the same establishment uniparty liberals masquerading as Republicans.
Buckley was a true conservative and after Trump’s first term, would have been solidly behind him. For all his promises kept: for the protection of Christianity which was very dear to Buckley’s heart, for the unborn, for the conservative judges, for the Second Amendment, for the massive de-regulation of our businesses, for the inner city enterprise zones, for lower taxes, for a stronger military, for helping vets, for our glorious energy independence, for the removal of the college kangaroo rape courts, for fighting for charter schools, for cracking the code on minority unemployment, for blocking the onslaught of illegal immigration - these were all building blocks I had read for years in the tight print of the National Review, and Trump delivered on all these. Bill Buckley famously said, I will support the most conservative politician who can get elected! These current usurpers like Lowry, Williamson, French and Goldberg, who did not vote for Trump in 2016 and 2020 have desecrated Bill Buckley’s life work, the glorious monument to conservatism that was National Review. The magazine is worthless now, toxic waste.
Spare me the tedious lectures on Trump’s crude tweets and locker room talk, while Obama’s FBI was imprisoning people for political crimes, destroying people’s lives with fabricated tales of Russian collusion and farcical Logan Act violations, and illegally wiretapping political enemies. They used the IRS to abuse people’s right of free speech because they were political enemies of Obama. These were all impeachable offenses, not some fake Ukrainian call. Then Obama’s FBI and others refused to investigate real crime and corruption whether by Hillary’s joke of a charity fund, voter fraud in the 2016 primaries against Sanders, or Biden’s Tammany Hall crime family that shook down the entire world. Obama shredded the Constitution, but these never Trumpers could only talk about “tweets” and “presidential decorum”. How they cannot see this grotesquely lopsided scale of morality while 80 million of us could, convinces me that they didn’t want to see it. ‘A man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest.’
It’s not so much about Trump as it is about conservatism and how Americans want to run their own lives. Americans see hypocrisy from a lying elite media that is being deliberately obtuse because certain facts run counter to their leftist narrative. They are sick of it, and the never Trumpers contribute to it. It’s about many Americans who voted for Trump because he was conservative and he did what he said he was going to do. Now they talk of “deprogramming” these people on CNN, in some kind of Stasi fashion. History repeats, first as tragedy, and then as farce.

25 years ago, he looked like a serious contender for being a president within 12 -16 years. He fell flat on his face.
