Today, State Representative Kyle Biedermann’s legislation that would give the people of Texas a chance to vote on Texas becoming an independent, self-governing nation became official.
The “Let Texas Vote” act would give Texans an opportunity to head to the polls in November of 2021 and start the process of reasserting our status as an independent nation. If the people vote in favor, the bill provides for the establishment of a committee to begin working on a transitional plan which would address all of the issues related to decoupling from the federal government.
This bill is simply to put the question to the people of Texas. Even if legislators don’t personally support TEXIT, at a minimum they should support your right to publicly debate and vote on the issue. Your representatives either believe that you are smart and responsible enough to make this decision or they believe that they know what’s best for you regardless of what you think. There is no middle ground.
We need you to call your State Representative and let them know that you are a constituent and you expect them to sign on to HB 1359 as a co-author. Let them know that this will be a voting issue for you in the 2022 election.
If you don’t know your State Representative you can map your legislative district at this link.
A Trade. DC in. Texas out.
Texas can hold their own militarily and can do a treat with the U.S>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
They would definitely secure their southern border, no more monkey business. Be doing the USA a favor.
Texas never surrendered it’s sovereignty before joining the Union. They retained it to this day.
So they can easily become an independent nation.
As if the rest of the country will ever pay their share of the debt off.
How many functioning tanks are the feds willing to leave at Fort Hood? Anti-aircraft missiles at Fort Bliss?
I will propose a fair compromise - the Yankees keep El Paso and Hudspeth counties. That's about half as big as Belgium. Or throw in Culberson County - that would get you up to 9400 square miles, to Belgium's 11,849. Seems like a fair settlement to me.
Most of the nukes and their delivery systems, except for the “Football,” are kept in Red States.
Lol....we’ll develop our own.
FL would be smart, along with other southern/Gulf states, to join w/TX, our TX.
We already do in a sense. We have the only assembly plant in the North America. It’s in the pan handle.
Whatever their fair share was -after- a reasonable deduction for the expenses that a tyrannical DC caused Texas to incur in order to secure basic human liberty.
“The Irish Free State would assume responsibility for a proportionate part of the United Kingdom’s debt, as it stood on the date of signature.”

I don’t think it would be a problem. The only problem I can see would be finding homes for the tens of millions of new residents that would migrate to Texas instantly.
I don’t know, guys. Here’s the 1845 annexation resolution...

I don’t see anything in there that give Texas a special right to secede, but I’m open to arguments to the contrary
I’m pretty sure the feds will end up owing Texas, a lot.
Nope. Let the FedGov come and take it. We even have a flag for that....
I thought they would negotiate from where they STAND.
No get no give.... and they can capitalize on their own oil
Where will all the Democrats go ? LOL
Looks like libs are already trying to make it into a violent movement so they can send in the FBI dogs etc. to stop it before there’s a vote.
At this point, I think it’s a 50/50 chance Texans would vote to exit the U.S. Turmoil, uncertainty, etc. are issues against but Texans are independent and can see the sh*tshow the U.S. will become — 16 year olds voting etc.
I’m considering moving to Texas from Nevada. One event that would convince me to pull the trigger would be Texas leaving the (non)Union. I would LOVE to vote with my feet, since the usual way of voting is now so damaged.
(Let’s get the humans out of the vote-counting business.

I’m with you! Thinking of leaving NY for FL but if Texas pulled off something like this then I’d reconsider relocating there.
So that means we loose Texas’ 38 electoral votes?
This was tried from 1861-1865. It did not end well.
So, how would currency work? Any money (whether held or in a financial institution) is federal currency.
