If presidential inaugurations are all about symbolism, what to make of this one?

There was no grace present as Trump slunk off early in the morning, an embittered use of Air Force One while he still controlled it. No reports of Downton Abbey-like farewells with the White House staff. No first lady tea ceremony. Hell, it’s not like the Bidens haven’t seen the place before. The Trumps left the White House the way most people leave a hotel: might as well get an early start on it.

Biden has far far more tools to fight this virus than Trump had in the beginning. And still Biden is going to screw this up royally, a d blame it on Trump. Trump did not leave Biden a worse mess, as the excuse making left are claiming, he left biden fully prepared to tackle the problem because Trump did all the hard work already, and thanks to Trump, there are now several vaccines that were not available when this first hit, and plenty of other means to tackle the virus, and handle the sick.

But as symbols go, what didn’t happen at Biden’s inauguration is most noteworthy. For four years, we had been told that today was never going to happen. Trump was going to declare himself dictator, cancel the election because of COVID, start a war with Iran, start a nuclear war with someone, or declare martial law. Yet the only tanks on the streets were put there by Democrats.

If you watched the inauguration as I did with the sound muted it was somber and contrived. If you watched the body language and the faces of these deeply evil people they looked like they were at a funeral. Why weren’t they jumping for joy that they won and Trump is gone? It’s because they know they stole it and that we all know it. They aren’t stupid they know they aren’t going to pull this off. IMO this is very short term. Others may disagree. Time will tell.

If I were Trump, I would have had Air Force One repainted with two large middle fingers on the vertical stabilizer, and dropped parachute men who looked like Trump flipping the double bird all along the parade route, while jettisoning the toilet contents.

Only an idiot would have taken part in any of those ‘ceremonies’, and President Trump is no idiot.

Just like any other ordained tin pot dictator’s installment into power, Joe Biden clearly has no support from the people he and Harris will rule over. They obviously don’t care, they are in control now and the common citizens will just have to accept it or undergo detention camps for reprogramming until they do or remain locked up.
