In what is almost an unbelievable turn of events, even for this horrible year of 2020, the official Twitter account for WalMart just outright attacked GOP Senator Josh Hawley today.
After Senator Hawley became the first GOP senator to make it known that he will object to the January 6 certification of the Electoral vote, WalMart weighed in with a response that reads “Go ahead. Get your 2-hour debate. #soreloser”.

That a major corporation would weigh in on a political issue with a partisan political response is no surprise. We see that happening all the time.
The surprise here is that the partisan political response comes not from some Big Tech firm, but from WalMart, a retail chain of mega-stores that appeal largely to America’s lower middle class shoppers, a very large chunk of which makes up a very large chunk of the support base of Donald J. Trump.
WalMart’s decision to take this hyper-partisan stance on this crucial issue now gives Trump supporters a prime opportunity to extract some accountability from this major retailer by engaging in a simple boycott. While boycotts on media outlets like CNN and MSNBC are completely ineffective, given that such media outlets don’t want to attract conservative viewers and only serve as loss-leaders for their giant corporate umbrellas, a boycott of a profit-motivated retailer such as WalMart by 75 million Americans would likely be extremely effective.
Making Wal-Mart an even more prime target for such a boycott is the fact that it is a company that sources roughly 70-80% of its products not from U.S. suppliers, but from China:

So, all you Trump supporters, listen up: If you currently include WalMart or Sam’s Clubs among your regular shopping routine, the time has come to cross it off your list. You have never been handed a more prime opportunity to extract a little accountability from any major corporation.
Just do it.
That is all.
When Trump gets his second term he will go after the Chinese tooth and nail. Some of this will be in the form of stopping all that crappy Chinese imported goods in favor of American made. This goes directly against the grain of Walmart. If there is a sudden stoppage of communist goods, many Walmart doors will close in a matter of days.
Aldi's is owned by a German family, the Albrechts. The Aldi stores in this country garner a huge following and high marks among consumers for affordable prices and a great selection of products.
The Trader Joe's stores, also owned by the family Albrecht, is a smaller chain also known for its reasonable prices, inviting atmosphere, and delicious, unusual products.
I'm part German descent, my hard-working grandfather had a bustling, prosperous German bakery for 30 years in Berwyn, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.
I know good stuff....and Aldi's is a place I love to shop for specialty items, like a good imported genuine German stollen.
If some freepers don't like the good stuff at Aldi's because the owners are rich through hard work by two brothers in the company's early years (circa 70 years ago), then they don't like capitalists....and they and their tummies are losers on all fronts.

The Aldi prices on their own branded stuff are incredibly cheap...they truly are a ruthless competitor...
I just went to our Aldi’s, for the first time, just before Christmas.
Boy, have I been missing out!!
I LOVED it.
It was a quick trip but I did score some PURE maple syrup and delicious, French Brie cheese.
I can’t wait to go back.
You typically think of German brands as high priced (cars, cameras, etc) but these folks undercut EVERYBODY.
Unfortunately I have no choice.....the only place to shop where I am that is reasonably priced.....
I know the HVAC system in my local store here in Indiana is controlled from a bunker in Bentonville Arkansas. At least that’s what the mgr told me when I complained about it being in the high 50s inside last winter. I guess it keeps the stockers working instead of loafing.
I get a laugh at their labels.....they look JUST like the store brand labels, but they’re not. Like they belong in a TV show.
I was looking at what the couple in front of me had bought (since they said they were Aldi veterans, and I was a n00b)....and, thought...Oh, they have Land O’Lakes butter! Nope....it just LOOKED exactly like LOL butter, but was some obscure....Morning Meadow name, or something like that.
And the stuff is all made in the same production lines as the name brands I think, and tastes good. I’ve had very few disappointments with Aldi branded stuff. Very few.
100%, the bros split and Aldi-Sud is the American branch where Trader Joe’s is Aldi-Nord
I agree. No more Walmart.
We need to boycott all the big box stores and try to find mom and pop stores if any are left.
Please let me know I f you are from SE Pennsylvania and you know of any ma and pa shops. I’ll drive an hour for groceries and supplies if it means I can boycott these fucking globalists.
“I suspect that Wal-Mart will have the post removed and then offer an “apology” of sort, saying that this was written by an employee who acted alone and w/o corporate approval. They’ll then say they were “sorry” to Hawley.”
Are you a parrot? See #9 above.
I crossed them off my list (Sam’s club) 20 years ago.
Agree with your thoughts about Aldi. It is my favorite store in St Augustine because it is 6 minutes drive, and has better prices than Walmart and Winn-Dixie, versus 40 minutes to nearest Trader Joe’s which is even better.
And it is not owned by Chinese communist gov’t.
How can anyone shop at Walmart, you ask? I do, because most of their grocery items are significantly less expense than our major grocer, Publix. some are 100% less. On a limited budget, it is a NO BRAINER! Even if I weren’t on a limited budget I would not throw money away. DUH.
“How can anyone shop at Walmart, you ask? I do, because most of their grocery items are significantly less expense than our major grocer, Publix.”
It just gets on my nerve that the uppity attitude that people here criticize in politicians gets repeated here, when it comes to American icons (even if much of Walmart’s stock comes from China).
So I join the ‘holier than thou’ chorus blasting Walmart (and McDonald’s), while, at the same time, not changing my tag line.
...but you could still find better places to shop (LOL).
Oops, sorry! I didn’t see your tag line. But I enjoy telling uppity folks that I shop at Walmart just to watch them look like I’ve started to smell. 😊
Yeah, yeah, yeah...so pray tell, where is the Aldi’s in CA, South O.C., to be specific. Or its equivalent? Am I in a wasteland? (yes, I know)
I love the chain! Modest prices, Try the imported German stollen, the dreamy frozen marbled chocolate/vanilla cheescake (to die for)...and the anise pizzelles (sprinkle them with sifted powdered sugar when you get home, store the plate in your microwave to keep the crispiness, my guest devour them)....I could go on....but now I'm hungry, lol.
Leni
LOL! yup good stuff...
