An explosion shook the largely deserted streets of downtown Nashville early Christmas morning, shattering windows, damaging buildings and wounding three people. Authorities said they believed the blast was intentional. The FBI is leading the investigation.
The police came across a suspicious RV parked outside a nearby AT&T building near Second Avenue and Commerce Street before 6 a.m., when initially responding to calls of shots fired in the area, said Metro police spokesperson Don Aaron.
There was no immediate evidence of any shooting but officers alerted the department’s bomb squad, which was en route when a “significant explosion” happened about 30 minutes later, Aaron said.
Just before the blast, officers were conducting door-to-door checks in the area and redirected a man walking his dog along the street. The force of the explosion knocked an officer to the ground. Three people were hospitalized with injuries, police said.

Aaron said it was unclear if anyone was inside the RV when it exploded.
Another video that was sent to us a few moments ago shows the exact moment of the explosion.
What is striking was the vehicle with the bomb is warning through horns that the area had to be evacuated.

Betsy Williams, the owner of the Melting Pot building across the street, told The Tennessean that guests reported the RV was stationed there since Thursday night.
Williams, who lives in a loft apartment on the third floor, said she heard the sound of loud, rapid-fire gunshots at about 4:30 a.m.
After multiple rounds of gunshot sounds, Williams said she called 911.
Then, she said, she heard a repeated warning she said came from the RV parked outside her building.
“Evacuate now. There is a bomb. A bomb is in this vehicle and will explode,” she remembers the recorded warning saying.
Then, she said, the voice started a 15-minute countdown.
Buildings shook in the immediate area and beyond after a loud boom was heard.
Footage from the scene on 2nd Ave North shows the damage that has been done:
President Donald Trump has been briefed, according to White House spokesperson Judd Deere, who said that Trump, who is spending the holidays in Florida, will continue to receive regular updates. The U.S. Justice Department said Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen was also briefed and directed all department resources be made available to help with the investigation.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said on Twitter that the state would provide the resources necessary “to determine what happened and who was responsible. Please join @MariaLeeTN and me in praying for those who were injured and we thank all of our first responders who acted so quickly this morning.”
Big city data centers...windowless monoliths. Many of them exist.
I retired from Verizon Business and, over the years, worked at two of those very large centers, the regional junction and a data center in the metro area. Your description, "windowless monoliths" tells me you have been there done that too. After 9/11 all markings were removed from our buildings. This little former Bell South location sounds like a wire center for local dedicated access. My Son-in-law's brother-in-law works in that building so I may learn more in the next few days.
Trump would have an EM50 built to the limits of technology.
I’ve had to go multiple rounds with AT&T with DSL and an MPLS line looked at by a technical person.
Misery.
not muslim. There is a hint of regional accent and ethnicity in the female voice, possibly middle-aged. Someone who has learned how to moderate their voice - reservations, telemarketing, tour guide, protest megaphoner. Newer motorhome. Stolen? “donated”? Warning broadcast cleared out homeless- youth involved? (cold blooded wouldn’t care about homeless) Access to explosives no problem - think of all the illicit fireworks (black powder/quarter and half sticks) available since Spring. Or even a few propane tanks (fireball) Force of blast took out windows but not entire building fronts. (not OK City type explosives)
Not sure how AT&T is tied to the airport, but seems they are having computer problems on their flight systems there. Maskers’ rage over travel? Which business was the main target and which were collateral damage? Aamco repair shop near site.
Why has there been a delay in any ‘demands’ communication? Homegrown.
There is a Church maybe two nearby on the other side of the building could that have been the real target?
Remember this, as during any war, does anyone tell the truth?
All actions will be told in light of the leaderships truth only.
It does not matter who acted, only who is aloud to tell the STORY!
What I did not notice in replies and thought odd was that the sideshow of the blast never mentioned the possibility of this not wanting to hurt the buildings which would be a massive trigger in “ public relations “ nor did it really hurt the surrounding area , yes they said remains were scattered everywhere though the post blast video showing the blast does not show debris blown all over the street ??
Location, no way was it going to hurt the building.
Actual location it was targeting - the underground services conduits of the telecommunications for the area, and I dare not think that these buildings have only one main conduit of cabling egress, seeing they were built to withstand confrontational assault in the days when they knew it was a threat.
I recall an explosion in a Comms manhole, reported as gas or someone leaving a cutting torch on in error, was many many years ago but summary was boom and all comms including 911 and web and aircraft etc etc was knocked out for a massive amount of time.
Should our esteemed FRiends have contacts or can find sewer and conduit diagrams online of the area then we could see if where the truck was parked was on top of a manhole cover.
The boom was a sideshow deflection, the real target was the comms dropout, reasoning that hacking servers or removing servers during normal operational would through red flags throughout the entire network system, but using the excuse of corruption of data due to massive electrical and data stream corruption can be easily spread as the cause for data loss.
Don’t flame, if one does not postulate and express ones thoughts for review then we loose ourselves in the noise of the “ official narrative.”
Respects
That sounds like The Weather Underground.
Possibly Antifa.
Read somewhere Antifa was active in Nashville.
The explosion seems huge.
Any reason to believe it was tannerite?
Have seen internet videos of people triggering tannerite explosions with gunshots, but the explosions didn’t seem as big as this seems.
Just that Tannerite is readily available
Antifa mo
