AOC blames Republicans not wearing masks for shutdowns

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., took to social media Friday night for a “Cooking Q&A” to answer questions and update her followers on what is happening with COVID-19 relief – a practice she has exercised since entering office in 2018.

Ocasio-Cortez has used the sessions with her followers, as a time to vent and speak to her young base in a way officials in political office have never done in the past – something that members from both parties have been critical of.

But the New York Democrat, often deemed a socialist by her critics, used the opportunity to voice her frustration at Republicans who do not want to see communities re-shutdown as the pandemic spikes in regions across the country.

As I wrote elsewhere, lest anyone think otherwise, we are seeing a SEASONAL RISE in cases and fatalities, and not a "surge.

~ half of the reported 14K Covid 19 deaths in Illinois are in long term care facilities. We have been hovering around 50% since this started. If masks did anything, I would expect better numbers.

Wearing a mask outside is stupid. I've only seen one person around here doing that - a young woman walking her dog. My dog and I passed her going the other way on the other side of the street. It was all I could do to keep from laughing out loud at her.

Seriously folks, wake TF up. This isn't about any flu bug from China. At first the story was all we needed to do was lock down and wear masks for a couple of weeks, a few at most. All to "flatten the curve" and get us past this. That was what, 38, 40 weeks ago? If wearing masks inside, where we're in close proximity, breathing the same air had worked we'd be done. If masks don't work or don't work well inside then outside with even more distance and far more dispersed and diluted air masks are going to be even less effective. (assuming they are to any degree under any circumstances)

If you wear a mask outside thinking it is going to protect you or others... Well, sorry if this hurts your feelings but you need to hear it - you're an idiot in my book. I will never wear a mask outside - unless it's cold and I'm walking my dog or riding my motorcycle. Then it'll be an SA neck warmer.

These lockdowns, mask mandates, open/close businesses, restrict this or that behavior at this or that business, step to the right, jump to the left, sit down, stand up, Simon says... IT IS ALL BS! There are political forces at work here watching, learning. They're saying to themselves "Hmm, now isn't that interesting how well that worked..." We are obviously being toyed with, experimented on.
