The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has repeatedly said the first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in the U.S. on Jan. 19, 2020.
Now, the CDC is amending that timeline.
A new study shows testing found COVID-19 infections in the U.S. in mid-December 2019. The study, which was published Monday, identified 106 infections from 7,389 blood samples collected from donors in nine U.S. states between Dec. 13 and Jan. 17. The samples, collected by the American Red Cross, were sent to the CDC for testing, which showed antibodies in 39 samples from California, Oregon, and Washington state collected between Dec. 13-16.
“The findings of this report suggest that SARS-CoV-2 infections may have been present in the U.S. in December 2019, earlier than previously recognized,” the paper said...“Not only did Covid-19 likely appear in the U.S. earlier than previously known, but researchers have found evidence that the virus is far more widespread in the U.S. than testing indicates,” the Journal wrote. “Some 53 million people in the U.S. likely had contracted Covid-19 by the end of September, according to a modeling estimate published last week by CDC researchers. Roughly 6.9 million infections had been confirmed within that time period, suggesting that roughly one in every eight cases was identified.”...

Those of us who had something strange around the end of last year already knew this.
Absolutely
Yeah, I said this was possible back early on..in January or February... and got hammered that it couldn’t be possible..CDC hadn’t said so.
CDC is worthless
Thought we all knew this back when.
Likely flew in on a plane from... hmm, China.
I think I remember you saying that you suspected this with some of your patients last winter?
CDC made and patented this killer virus with FauXi.
THE USPTO made them make it murderous to get the patent.
CDC PROFITS from royalties on all vaccines and tests
and research made ON THEIR PATENTED VIRUS.
why are free? why are they in charge?
why are they not in GITMO?
Likely places where it reached the USA: any place with a large expatriate Chinese population, notably the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles metro region, and New York City borough of Queens. No wonder my brother’s family had this strange, long-lasting cold in January 2020. 🤔🤧😷
YUP.. Coughed and coughed, aches, low fever, ..
and it was here before December. It was cruising the world waiting for ports to invade and infest.... we came back from a Panama Canal cruise and a couple weeks later, wifey had it and then I had it. What a miserable holiday.
Thanks, China. (and of course, the Leftist Cabal that defends them)
We live in Eastern King County, WA the first official “hot spot”. Everyone believed it was being passed around and multiplying here long before the first case was discovered on January 20. We have half a million newly arrived Chinese in this community and many visited home and returned in December on the daily nonstop flights between Wuhan and SeaTac. University of WAshington researchers made the same observation months ago.
It was here way before Jan 13...
I wonder if you had this “strange cold” in January and it actually was covid, could you be tested for covid antibodies and would anything show up? I thought antibodies for something only persist for a limited time in one’s system.
Yes, I believe it.
Back in January there was a Nurse who said she had seen it in Texas back in December.
I got roasted because the person said she read what the CDC said in their first release..and the CDC didn’t make that claim.
I said then..and I say now.. SO WHAT
Common sense about Commie China would tell you they were never going to tell you the truth back then..IF EVER..of when they first discovered it.
I am sure CDC does some good but I will NEVER take their word as gospel.

Yup. I almost never get colds and I had a 3-day cold w. sore throat before Christmas 2019. I know friends who had multi-week colds with persistent coughs who generally are healthy.
Feb 2nd coming back from visiting a friend in Laguna Beach CA my wife and I noticed all these PRCs wearing what we didn’t know at the time were N95 masks. Was funny/strange at the time but not anymore.
You are correct: antibody production is handled by B-cells and those cells essentially work themselves to death (with some help from T-cell signaling and other factors). After infection is over, roughly 10% of the B-cells involved in producing antibodies for that particular pathogen will survive and return to dormancy as Memory B-cells. If the same pathogen is ever encountered again, they'll be trigger to rapidly multiple and unleash Hell upon the pathogen. That's how immunity works: you can still have the pathogen introduced into your body, but rather than spending time analyzing it and growing the right cells to fight it, your body is prepared to immediately overwhelm the invader with custom-built biowarfare.
However, the process of producing antibodies is extremely energy-intensive (hence why 90% of the B-cells work themselves to death doing it). If your body continued producing antibodies indefinitely for every pathogen it encountered, you'd quickly run out of energy to do pretty much anything else and would likely die quickly.
Me and family member had what we called “The Crud” 3 times, once in early march, once in April, and again late may- same symptoms all three times
Slight fever- nothing to write home about, Bad chills though for 3 days, Diarrhea, stomach upset, very weak for a few days (Just going out to kitchen from living room would cause weakness, shaking- would get back to living room and feel like just jogged a few moles), sinus drainage, throwing up, Ached all over- slept almost 24 hours for 2 of the 3 times i got whatever it was we had
No coughing though- and didn’t lose taste or smell,
I was tested for antibodies in Sept- but they said ‘nope- no covid’
I don’t know what we had- but man it sucked big time-
It arrived at the height of the phony impeachment.
[[If your body continued producing antibodies indefinitely for every pathogen it encountered, you’d quickly run out of energy to do pretty much anything else and would likely die quickly.]]
Wonder if this is why people with autoimmune diseases get so worn out? Or is that another process? I know the body goes wonky and attacks itself- but not sure if it is making antibodies constantly in the process?
“jogged a few moles”
LOL- See? The Crud messed up my engrish
Hey geniuses, a bunch of us had the Wuhan last November!
