Since my last post on this subject, 15 days ago, we have had Thanksgiving. You are all well familiar with how our betters urged us to not get together with friends and family this year due to the dread virus ‘rona.
I posted then that I looked forward to Freepers reporting on their discussions with friends and family over Thanksgiving and that I was hoping some of you could report good news, such as finding out that people you never thought would wake up are waking up.
So, what about your Thanksgiving? Please post if you have something interesting to report, especially if something cool occurred, such as a friend or family member you never thought would see reason actually coming around.
Did you spend Thanksgiving with different people this year because the usual people you spend it with were afraid of the rona and you found yourself having to reach out to others who were being ostracized by their families?
15 days, they told us, for 15 days/roughly 2 weeks we need to work from home, close non-essential business, cancel concerts, baby showers, bingo games, etc., yada, yada, you know “the thing” (to show my solidarity with a certain presidential candidate) in order to give hospitals a chance to gear up for huge, terrible, overwhelming waves of ‘rona patients.
15 days. Instead, 15 days has now become 260 days. We can argue as to the exact start date of the implementation of Operation Curve Flattening. I am punctuating it from the first day I began working from home per the guidelines in my state.
On December 15, it will be 275 days, less than 100 days to the one-year anniversary.
It will be one day after the Electoral College is supposed to meet.
My own Thanksgiving report is very boring. I spent Thanksgiving along, as I always do, because I can’t behave myself. Based on reports from the non-leftist part of the family about the leftist part, the former wishes they had made the same choice I had. I will leave it at that.
I partied with 23 others, no masks, no social distancing, lots of food, lots of booze, a bit of smoking (tobacco), singing and loud talk, a big F you to the almighty highmaster lord Gavin of Dork, medieval barber......
Fun was had by all, will do it again even harder on Christmas!!!!
I cancelled Thanksgiving

One of the great sadnesses in my family life is that every other member of my immediate family (other than my wife), that's my mom and my sister and her family, and my ex- and my daughter and my son-in-law, etc. etc. are all raving Democrats, and some think the Dems are far too moderate.
Talk politics with any of them? I'd rather stick a fork in my eye. So holding such a conversation while holding a fork is just asking for trouble.
My wife and a very few selected friends are the only ones I would dare sit down over dinner with these days. Couldn't have friends over, so Mrs. D and I had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner ourselves.
Someday this will all just be a memory, either because it resolves in a good way, or because it resolves in a bad way.
Travelled to son and expectant DIL’s house. They are conservatives. My Bernie Bro son in law and leftist daughter haven’t had Thanksgiving with us for eight yrs now.
Since so many females vote Marxist, it makes you question women’s suffrage.
We also are remodeling son and DIL’s bathroom in time for first grandchild
Went to my son and d-i-l’s for Thanksgiving.
My sister-in-law is terrified of the virus, which tells you her political leanings. However we usually have a great time with them and assiduously avoid talking politics when we get together. But this year the risk of corona was too much for her to consider it.
So we really didn’t do much different.
Besides, here in NH Sununu has displayed a fair amount of sanity and while he technically advises masks etc, he has so many exceptions to the mask wearing rule that more people can opt out than should comply.
