Socialism summed up within 20 seconds by Ronald Crook for Bentral Television.
As a conservative that has worked for many years with homeless and disadvantaged people, this video hits home for me.
Yep!
He often did.
No Hill’s Angels in that clip.
The problem with socialism, is that eventually you run out of other peoples’ money. Thatcher.
You can vote your way into socialism. but you’ll have to shoot your way out.
I never liked Benny Hill when he was current, but I have to admit he’s very funny and clever.
mark
Benny was something else.
That was perfect!
Benny was the best.
I also loved the end of the Monty Python “Dennis Moore” sketch...
Halt! Halt! Gentlemen, ladies, bring out your valuables please. Come along sir, come along. Come along, madam, come along. Oh, is that all you’ve got ... well, he’s got much more than you ... so you’d better have some of his ... (transfers money from one passenger to another, dropping some)... sorry... pick them up in a moment... there’s about oh, what, nine down there... so you must have about... oh, he’s still got lots... oh you’ve got what? ... you’ve got more than he started with... so if I give you some of those (transferring more coins) ... well now, look ... have you got a bit of jewellery? If I give you that one and you have some of his coins ... is that another box? Were you trying to hide it? Well, that’s nice!
Right! Now. I’ve got a tiara ... you’ve got one... you’ve got one of the boxes... you’ve got one... anyone else got a tiara? Take your hat off! (passenger does so to reveal a tiara)... Oh, honestly, it’s absolutely pointless trying to do this if you’re going to cheat. It really is awful of you;..
He was. I used to watch him with my dad when I was little all the time. I’ve got the whole monty python collections on dvd.
Yep, everynight, it was Benny Hill, then Dave Allen at Large.
I always liked him, but thought he was a lightweight in anything other than comedy. That changed when I saw him do a poignant scene of a kid on a merry-go-round (metaphor for life) plaintively asking "Please, ma, can I go around again?".
Another one was a Shakespearian scene and he rattled off the Olde English without a pause. That's when I realized he was an all-around talent.
I got pist the way the British tabloids acted when he died. They all rushed to his home and riffled through his belongings, looking for something salacious. You could tell by the reporting that they were disappointed - basically a lonely guy.
