No specific plans for taxing the rich in general, but definitely for confiscating the property of landlords. It will be more disastrous for housing quality and availability than rent control. The government will hand out slum dwellings to its favored functionaries, and either let them turn into jungles, or establish brutal feudal control over them.
Uh yeah, you know the lyric “tax the rich till there aren’t no rich no more”? It ain’t just a lyric. Put your plan into law and the money will flee your jurisdiction. Socialism only works when you have people smart enough to create wealth yet dumb enough to let you get it. Good luck with that. How many people like that do you think there are?
Now, if they can just figure out how to keep the rich from fleeing a deserted New York. The old Soviet Union had to put up walls to keep people IN. That is always the problem with socialists. How do you imprison those you want to control and rob? Most people want to keep the money they earn. What a concept !!!
She seems to be making the mistake that Bernie Sanders never made: actually trying to bring her ideas to fruition. Sanders always stood there yelling into the wind, knowing no change toward what he advocated was happening. That continuously won him the support of his loyal followers without the reality of it all ever smacking them in the face.
Cortez seems to actually want to make her socialist nonsense into governing policy. Her mistake there is that if she actually succeeds in doing so, she will ultimately only succeed in destroying the base of support for her ideology once every becomes disillusioned with what the reality looks like. It’s all sunshine and roses and free ice cream when she talks about it. But it doesn’t work like that. In fact, in the real world, socialism doesn’t work at all. You can try to turn NYC into a hippie commune, but what you’ll get will be the absolute opposite of harmony and joy.
If that’s what has to happen to get people back to the reality that working hard (and smart) in a capitalist society is the best way to improve the lives of everyone, then so be it.

She didn’t think any of this up herself; she is too bereft of IQ points. She is just a puppet on someone’s hand, someone who is feeding her her lines. It’s scary to contemplate a meat puppet like her as a member of Congress. She is not an independently thinking individual at all, but a highly immature, naive, empty vessel filled by a diabolical puppet master. Very dangerous.
