What would you say to an amateur chef who baked a cake following a certain recipe only for everyone who ate a slice to fall ill quickly afterward? Being such an enthusiastic baker, they bake the same cake a second time just a few weeks later, again following the same recipe, but this time with one or two slight adjustments. Unfortunately, the result is the same everyone who eats the cake soon ends up feeling sick.
The cake baker repeats this more than two dozen times, always modifying the recipe a little, but the basic ingredients remain more or less the same despite the fact that their guests throw up every time. Of course, theres no way such a thing would happen. The cake baker would soon realize that there is a major problem with the recipe and throw it away.
Yet this is exactly what socialists have done:
Over the past hundred years, there have been more than two dozen attempts to build a socialist society. It has been tried in the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, Albania, Poland, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Romania, Czechoslovakia, North Korea, Hungary, China, East Germany, Cuba, Tanzania, Benin, Laos, Algeria, South Yemen, Somalia, the Congo, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Mozambique, Angola, Nicaragua and Venezuela, among others. All of these attempts have ended in varying degrees of failure. How can an idea, which has failed so many times, in so many different variants and so many radically different settings, still be so popular?

The answer is easy: Free stuff. They believe the trough they feed from will magically refill itself forever.
Well I agree with you, I also happen to think that the reason socialism is so attractive is that people who are losers get taken care of by people who are forced to work to provide for those who don’t work. Humans love it when they get something for nothing.
These sentences were written by The New York Times Moscow correspondent, who was head of the newspapers office in the Russian capital from 1922 to 1936.
That would be Walter Duranty, who was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his work. A prize the New York Times has refused to return.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.”
William J. H. Boetcker
And yet, this is precisely what socialism is
Simple, basic sin. They covet other peoples possessions.
You shall not covet your neighbors house. You shall not covet your neighbors wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.Exodus 20:17
“7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, You shall not covet.
That is truly depressing. Are we as humans doomed to repeat the same failures over and over again ad infinitum?
Quantitative Easing for all of President Obama’s, while destructive could not destroy America (alone) because the World Banks all agreed to pump the same QE into all the other world economies - a novel attempt to hide the debasing of the host currency in the eyes of the recipients. If only one country does it then it immediately destroys that country; in the case of the EU they had two hopes one being that USA would be a socialist country before their experiment failed within the bloc - yet in order to work France could not bing on Agriculture subsidizes before all the others, or Germany could not self-enrich at the expense of the weaker states which is what happened.
It takes a greedy Monkey. This time America’s Greedy Monkeys are BLM and the DNC/Antifa.
They just need to reedumacate us knuckle-dragging Neanderthals and imprison the greedsters and everything will be hunky-dory.
It’s the idea that never dies because society’s losers are ever envious of winners and despise any system that allows them to rise to the top.
When it comes to landlords then Trump did more than embrace socialism. He went for full on communism.
Why doesn’t he just pay the rent and then the government can try to collect it back later. Some of these tenants have been collecting unemployment plus 600 a week. They have a new car sitting in the driveway because they don’t have to pay the rent.
The Marxists say religion is the opiate of the masses but the truth is that socialism, in all its forms, is a far superior opiate for the masses and elites alike.
It gives salvationist zeal and self righteousness with none of that messy repentance guff that so turns off the world.
Socialism tells the people they deserve what they didn’t earn and they are due it from the State.
Get in line, shut up and hold out your hands.
Socialism tells the elites that they can do as they please as the great and the good, have limitless power to indulge their pride and ego.
Take the stage, be praised by men as they wait for your bread and circuses.
But dont you see that Socialism is the only answer to income inequity and social justice and racial and wealth inequities
Socialism & communism suck people in with their marketing brochures & advertising slogans, but like cheap toys in cereal boxes, the real thing is junk and nothing like described
You don’t bring people up, by pulling the rest of them down to your level.
“It has been tried in the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, Albania, Poland, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Romania, Czechoslovakia, North Korea, Hungary, China, East Germany, Cuba, Tanzania, Benin, Laos, Algeria, South Yemen, Somalia, the Congo, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Mozambique, Angola, Nicaragua and Venezuela, among others.”
the problem is it takes decades for people to die of the food poisoning of socialism. Because that’s how long it takes for the infrastructure they inherited from the capitalists to start breaking down.
the left always points to the nordic countries as examples of how socialism can work. *sigh*
The San Fran socialists claim to be against fascism.
Mal educated morons.
