Most Voters Don’t Deserve This
Opinion by J. Johnson

The current conflict is entering a new phase. With that said, I would like to address a troubling trend in the commentary sections on this and other conservative forums. It seems that as we see reports of insurrections in American cities, there are a number of similar retorts from readers. To paraphrase: “…This is what they get for voting democrat”. I believe this not helpful, but in fact harmful to our overall cause; and we do ourselves a disservice by writing off huge segments of the population. Allow me to explain…

Let’s take for example, Portland, Oregon. Clearly, the overwhelming political landscape leans left, and the incompetent politicians were voted in repeatedly (by mail-in-voting, but that’s another subject). Let’s say some of the people in power were voted in by a 65-35 margin. When it’s stated “you get what you deserve”, we forget that at least 35% didn’t vote for this, and in many cases these days, it’s that percent (and more) that is being targeted with violence. And to say, “Well, those folks should move out of that area”, many did. They moved to the suburbs for a better life; to escape the devolution of their cities. Now, they (we) are being target there as well. Be they Republican or Democrat, I’m pretty sure they didn’t “vote for this”.

And what about the children that are being murdered in cold blood? The elderly that are routinely assaulted because they are weak? Folks told they can gather in the streets to destroy, but can’t congregate in church? Did they vote for this? This is not just limited to Portland. Reports of insurrection is taking place in many cities across America. On a national scale we only see a small window from Portland, Seattle, Chicago, and a few others if/when things heat up. But in cities across America, the violence and suffering continues long after the news cameras leave the area, and the events stop trending on Twitter. In more major cities than you know, downtown areas have turned into what looks like war zones where tens of thousands worked just 6 months ago.

In the last election cycle, I’m sure most democrats didn’t vote to ‘defund the police’ or for candidates who would give tacit endorsements to domestic terror organizations as they are doing now. I am also confident that the vast majority of Americans from all parties would like to rid themselves of these types. Those who may have supported such candidates now regret their decision. For this reason, one could suspect that those in power are aware of the public mood, but have no intention of surrendering their authority. They wish to defund the police, allow destruction over their jurisdictions, and prevent the means of self-defense to anyone who opposes them – including democrats that have been as we say these days, “red-pilled”.

So with respect to one’s right to have an opinion, part of winning this war means being in the right ‘mindset’. That’s more than just saying “…I’m safe where I am, they’d better not come down my street, and it sucks to be you…” . We need to look at each confrontation as teachable moments. Sure, we can’t save everyone but each event produces victims and/or witnesses who have a story to tell, and perhaps provide good SITREP reports that we all can use to better prepare ourselves for whatever comes next.

And when it comes to voting, I’d focus on that fact that we now have a huge voting block that have not voted our way in a long time, but are now ready to listen. Many of them have been direct victims of this insurrection (and pandemic). Like it or not, we may need their input to help us secure victory. Instead of turning them off, let’s try turning them on, and having them tune in.

I disagree.

We can sit here and say “Look at what we voted for and we have no riots, no violence and no assaults on political opponents. Come join us and leave marxism behind.”

But you make the mistake that the 65% who voted for this can be swayed. They cannot. They are hardcore marxists who want to tear the system down. They justify violence against political opponents who support individual liberty and capitalism.

You are naive to believe you can sway them. Look at the corporations and individuals who jumped right on the BLM/ANTIFA bandwagon. These are intelligent people who saw what was happening, but joined the marxists anyway.

My single daughter just sold her house in Portland. Nothing to do with the riots, everything to do with the virus. Her live in boyfriend it turned out was bi-polar, they were to be married and he forgot to tell her about his ailment. Well the lockdown sent him into a manic state and they broke up, he moved out and two weeks later her 14 year old dog died.

She called her Realtor and said sell it. She got three offers in 5 days two of them $50,000 over asking price. She closed last week and has over $80,000 in her bank account, ready to travel, she works online only, and see where else she might want to buy, she may be done with Portland and she voted for the politicians in charge.

Very interesting.

I take it her home was not in downtown Portland.

"Instead of turning them off, let’s try turning them on, and having them tune in."

I do understand the point.

However, it is necessary that all peoples, of jurisdictions, states, countries large and small, recognize that they don't get the government they want, they get the government they deserve.

Californians, New Yorkers, and Massholes move out of their sh*thole collectivist states because of certain policies, and then move and go and infect the remaining free areas of the country.

They don't see that THEY were what they wanted to leave. Making them aware of this is not task of being gentle.

Just as we should look with disdain upon Venezuelans' choice (even if by passive acceptance) of leadership, so to should we look upon the Portland voters, for example, with disdain. Should we look on each individual with disdain? Of course not. But as a group that together came up with their monster -> disdain.

It is not fair, but is a function of this mortal coil, that if you don't prevent the morons around you from acting moronically, you will find yourself all covered in their moronocy. Often that is violence. Fair? No. Did you do anything to deserve it? Well ... you didn't change it and you chose to stay and watch it develop, or you shielded your eyes. That 35% that may not have voted for what they got, did they FIGHT it? Or did they just sit there all innocent and passive while mold grew around them?

So it's true we should extend our invite to those with open eyes to join the free and not-moronic ... but so long as they remain ... the disdain is there not to punish them but to wake them the hell up.

We don't want their votes if it's going to drag us to the left. The ones that fight ... we'll take 'em!

It's not so much about blame or punishment as it is about opening one's eyes, waking up - seeing things as they really are.

Berating them, so long as that beration(?) is an effort to pry open their eyes rather than to simply be abusive ... well if that hurts them ... well I promise it hurts less than what awaits at the end of the passive path they are on.

I hear you but have very very very little patience for them. If their eyes aren't wide open, I say 'stay where you are and let the suffering wake you up.' That is, after all, the purpose of suffering. Pointing out WHY they suffer, for example, by saying 'you let this happen, in THAT sense you deserve it' ... that is merely pouring the cold water of enlightenment on their sleep heads.

But I get your point. And that may have been a little rant-ish of me and not necessarily addressed your specific points. If it didn't, then let this serve as acknowledgment that it may not have, and now, like the New York Times, I have placed a weaselly correction on page 26 :-)

I also believe almost all of the 65 percent cannot be swayed. In truth, who even knows anymore if it is even 65 percent. Dems have proven how to cheat when it comes to voting, so some are ‘voting’ that way without even knowing it. To me, it is being proven the right are the real ‘pacifists and peacemakers’ as we just want to be left alone. However, as it has been proven, the violence, cheating, and thuggery will always come to you if you allow it. And it is extremely disconcerting that the corporations jumped into all of this so easily this time.

Dems have proven how to cheat when it comes to voting, so some are ‘voting’ that way without even knowing it.

An example is California, where the average citizen is not nearly as far Left as his or her political representatives. Some of these citizens do vote (D) without really considering the consequences, but many don't vote at all. I suspect ballots are regularly cast in the names of the latter group, with illegals or any other warm bodies standing around the polling places willing to do the deed for a few (D) bucks under the table.

The latter group certainly "didn't vote for this" - but by not actively voting (R) they made it easy for somebody else to make a decision in their names.

We can control only what we can control...I can’t change the events in Portland, Seattle- only God can. God addresses this mayhem, paraphrased “ if you leave me, I will leave you to your own devices”, that said, his warning is unfolding with all to see, unfortunately it appears many have not been given the eyes to see and ears to hear. The events are a spiritual war and without addressing that fact the violence will continue. I do believe we are being prepared for a Revival, which in most cases happens only when a nation is brought to its knees.

Since it appears voting for democrats is an addiction, maybe we need to develop some sort of "12 step program" to help these poor souls "see the light".

you mentioned: “hardcore marxists”. There was something I left out of this article for brevity, but I’ll state it now...

Close friend of mine has a daughter age 40. In February of this year, she was a self-admitted communist (no kidding). Today she is ready to volunteer for the Trump re-election campaign.

No one really had to convince her. She saw what was going on, and how that insane governor in NY killed the business she struggled to build (she found a niche in a left-wing, progressive market). She started looking on the internet to see the news and information she was missing.

I have more stories. I’ll bet there are millions like her.

Not rantish at all.

DeBlasio, Lightfoot, and the bozos in Seattle and Portland were all elected by the citizens of their cities.

These people didn't run on a platform of making their cities safe, repairing infrastructure or keeping parks and neighborhoods clean. They ran on social justice warrioring.

The majority of citizens are getting EXACTLY what they voted for.

Trump's said on multiple instances, "Just ask us in, and we'll have it cleaned up in 24 hours." They won't do it.

It makes you think of women who keep going back to men who beat them up, then call the cops, then refuse to press charges, refuse to leave the man, and wonder why they keep getting beaten up. At some point, you can't protect people from their own bad choices. Ask John Belushi. Or Amy Winehouse. Or Jim Morrison. Or Chris Farley.

Having lived in the People’s Republic of NY and having had this said to me and other good, conservative FReepers who are here for reasons we can’t always control, I agree with you.

It’s too much of a broad brush, much like the leftists do to conservatives and Trump supporters.

However, I would contend that come election times, those who continue to vote democrat, DO deserve what THEY get.

Everyone else gets caught in the fall out and has my sympathy.

Those who, at this stage in the game when the lines have been drawn and are so clear cut, continue to support the democrat party, don’t get any sympathy from me when things go south.

Wait, so she voted for those who destroyed her city?

I sure hope she doesn’t continue to vote that way wherever she lands.

Read Daniel Horowitz’s, BLITZ.

Pray, fast, read The Bible. Listen to prophesy.

Praying for a change of heart for those in the Soro’s trap door on their way to hell. They should be protesting in hot areas to get the predestination mild heat.....Denver, Portland and LA are comfy!!!!!!!!!!!

“I have more stories. I’ll bet there are millions like her.”

I’ve replied to a few people like you who have these stories and implored them to write up a Vanity about them because they do offer hope to the Eyeores of FR, who are more numerous than I imagined.

I wish I could post such a Vanity myself, but I have no such stories, mainly because I have a small family and social circle and thus do not come into as much contact with people as other Freepers might. I’m also working from home now and have no idea how loony lib co-workers minds might have been changed by fast-moving events.
