Quercitin (+ Zinc) Question?
Me | Today of course | Me

Posted on 08/13/2020 9:58:06 AM PDT by Bob434

A few Quesitons about Quercitin if anyone knows the answer

1: Does a person have to take it (Along with Zinc of course) regularly to get protection?

2: Can a person take it like say in the morning before they have to go to hospital, or to health center, or to store where there are apt to be a lot of folks and be protected for that day? (And maybe take it several days after to be sure? thinking of high risk folks with health conditions)

3: The reason for the questions is because someone has kidney damage, and apparently Quercitin can aggravate that condition? If so- they probably shouldn't take it continually? Some sites say don't take if you have kidney damage

Here's a few other 'all natural' Zinc Ionophores that folks might be interested in checking out

‘AeroNabs’ Promise Powerful, Inhalable Protection Against COVID-19

-----------"As the world awaits vaccines to bring the COVID-19 pandemic under control, UC San Francisco scientists have devised a novel approach to halting the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the disease.

(Note, not sure if this is a zinc ionophere- i don't think so- but it could be a breakthrough medicine for covid- perhaps other viruses as well)

Led by UCSF graduate student Michael Schoof, a team of researchers engineered a completely synthetic, production-ready molecule that straitjackets the crucial SARS-CoV-2 machinery that allows the virus to infect our cells. As reported in a new paper, now available on the preprint server bioRxiv, experiments using live virus show that the molecule is among the most potent SARS-CoV-2 antivirals yet discovered."

This is a simple inhaler, or nasal spray too- once a day- and could, according to the scientists, possibly stop Ovid from infecting replicating in people- meaning they could get back to work, and not have to be bound by mask mandates

---------Hesperidin (Said to work better than quercitin by some)-- also might wanna add ECGC with it- you can get it on amazon- supposed to help quercitin

Is hesperidin essential for prophylaxis and treatment of COVID-19 Infection?

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32531538/

(Same questions would apply to this- can it be taken just on the day of contact with others?)

-----------Virocin Another Zinc Ionophore

-Is a natural Zinc Ionophore (Zinc Transporter) -Utilizes the proven ability of Quercetin (having no toxic side effects of other ionophores) -Actively transport the body’s natural zinc reserves across the cell membrane and into the cell where it can be far more effective -Enables zinc to assist and support the body’s natural immune system, far more effectively

The Japanese Alternative to Hydroxychloroquine: Zinc + Hinokitiol

"Much of what makes Hydroxychloroquine effective in combination with Zinc is believed to be its Zinc Ionophore capability. That is, the ability for Hydroxychloroquine to transport Zinc into cells and inhibit viral replication. Hinokitiol is also a Zinc Ionophore and was discovered in Japan in 1936. Hinokitiol is naturally occurring and draws its advantage from having low toxicity, hence, its wide inclusion in consumer oral care products."

Good questions. I too purchased some of this on impulse for myself and family. I was holding onto it to use or give at the first signs of symptoms (loss of taste or smell). I look forward to the comments of FReepers!

Are you certain about this? Quercetin is found naturally in a lot of fruits, vegetables, and grains -- if this person's kidneys really did get aggravated by quercetin, he or she would have a greatly restricted diet...

EGCG from green tea extract does the same thing as quercetin.

https://moscow.sci-hub.tw/2733/3287e032ba9fd1726a328756c0018198/dabbagh-bazarbachi2014.pdf

You can drink a few teabags’ worth of green tea and get close to the dose of a single capsule of 50% EGCG.

If you can handle green tea, you can handle the EGCG capsule.

I’ve been taking it for years during allergy season — really helps. Also a lot of research in recent years about quercetin combating senescent (”old”) cells in the body. I just recently added zinc sulfate to my daily intake of quercetin.

It sounds to me that you already have TOO MUCH information.

Zinc Quercetin by Sandhus. (Walmart/Walmart.com) $19.95 120 capsules, 60 day supply. (Amazon $24.95)

Take 2 vegetarian capsules per day (every day) = 22 mg Zinc and 800 mg Quercetin.

EGCG has 60% of the zinc ionophore activity of Chloroquine after four hours.

They have just found out it’s damaged- veerign towards danger zone apparently- (likely due to chemo)

I’ve seen warnings on quercitin- that say if one has kidney disease they shouldn’t take it

https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-294/quercetin

(Note not sure if quick doses would be bad or not- or if the small doses would be harmful- they seem to indicate high doses in IV administration ‘could be harmful’- The person with the kidney issue is in state where they can’t get HCQ- and they have to go to hospital quite a bit- (Where most people sick with covid go) - so there’s the concern about covid obviously because of health condition and higher risk hospital situation

The version I purchased combines Quercetin with Zinc. I thought about taking it daily, but I have an underlying condition that might not mix well with it. I will mention it to my doctor, though, on my next visit.

[[It sounds to me that you already have TOO MUCH information.]]

huh? There are reasons for asking what i did- possible safety concerns-

And many substances tell you to take it daily- but they also work in emergency situations too- I was wondering if it woudl work in high risk situations to help protect the person because they can’t get HCQ

I saw that thread a week or two ago and bought the zinc quercetin. I take it twice a day with 2500iu D3 and 500g Vit C in the AM.
So far so good...

Forgot to mention another alternative ‘protection’

Colgate Total mouth wash has cetylpyridinium chloride which protects against any covid that gets into mouth- it binds it or something, making it harder for the virus to replicate- it’s quick and easy step-

Colgate total professional mothwash has it, as does some Crest mouthwashes-

Can find it here:

https://www.amazon.com/cetylpyridinium-chloride-mouthwash/s?k=cetylpyridinium+chloride+mouthwash

Quercetin is a bioflavanoid. Should be taken with Vitamin C. You’re better off being on the iodine protocol which is iodine/iodide, selenium, vitamin C magnesium & salt. This is the protocol that protects against bacteria, fungus, viruses and cancer.

I’m taking 500 mg of quercetin and 50 mg of zinc each evening as the zinc doesn’t agree with me in the mornings. Additionally, I am taking vitamins C and D each day. Other than the zinc issue, I have had no side effects. Since this pandemic started, I haven’t missed a day of work nor have I worn a mask. I simply social distance, shop wherever and whenever I like, and have not a single soul comment on my lack of mask. (Although, I’m hearing there are many maskholes out there.)

I think i remember that iodine might be harsh on kidneys? I know contrast dye can be bad- which is iodine i believe? I’ll have to check that protocol out- but seems i remember it might be harsh- maybe it was something else-
