US Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) made another clumsy television appearance today. On "Fox News Sunday," Duckworth struggled to speak grammatical English and made several more bizarre statements.
Duckworth continues to insist that Russia is paying bounties to members of the Taliban to kill US troops in Afghanistan despite the fact that numerous US intelligence agencies have dismissed the claims as being uncorroborated.
Duckworth also alleged that the Department of Homeland Security is kidnapping ("mostly peaceful") protesters off the streets of Portland, Oregon where the US Court House is under attack. Duckworth doubled down on stupid by stating that universal background checks on gun purchases could have stemmed the violence in Portland. Not sure how restricting gun sales would have halted the use of Molotov cocktails.
Duckworth supported amnesty and a path towards citizenship for illegal aliens. No surprise.
Dick Durbin and Rahm Emanuel launched her career, which took much more work to get on track since former US Representative Peter Roskam (R-IL-6th) upset the scheme to get Duckworth established in Congress by beating her in 2006. Durbin and Emanuel wanted her to be the next Max Cleland: a wounded military veteran who would be immune from criticism as an elected Democratic officeholder.
Duckworth was appointed to head the Illinois Veterans’ Affair Agency and, later, to the US Veterans’ Administration to build her credentials. Interestingly, she was faulted by vets for performing poorly in both sinecures.
She finally was elected to Congress in 2012 after the Illinois Democrats gerrymandered a district especially for her candidacy.

And HE is the ONLY reason that she is a US citizen at birth, not NATURAL BORN, because Congress passed a statute called the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1953. Otherwise she wouldn’t have even been any type of US citizen unless she naturalized.
Article II, section one clause 5 was ratified in 1787. A statute passed in 1953 cannot alter the meaning or intent of a constitutional provision.
One day, when and if a true respect for the constitution ever returns, we can have this matter adjudicated by an Article III court.
In 1944, FDR, realizing that he was sick and probably would not live through a fourth term, replaced the ultra left wing VicePresident Henry Wallace with the more moderate candidate, Harry Truman. Now, 76 years later, the Democratic presumptive candidate Joe Biden cannot make that choice. All the potential Democratic Vice-Presidental candidates are “Henry Wallace’s”. Even if he were to choose a Republican? like Romney or Kasich, he would lose the support of the majority in his own party.
It is no wonder that the Biden campaign is having trouble picking a woman of color to be his Vice President. They all having serious baggage that President Trump will capitalize on.

Many freepers have convinced themselves that the founders meant to include as eligible to be President anyone who could tangentially claim US citizenship at birth such as Anwar al-Awlki’s kids, born in Yemen to one citizen parent, or Winston Churchill whose mother was an American.
Ted Cruz is only eligible if they are.
And we know that Churchill was awarded “honorary” citizenship by Congress, so they must not have had such an expansive view of who was NATURALLY an American.
The only way one is naturally a citizen is if there is no alternative and no law or statue required.
The amount of opposition to upholding the Constitution on FR has been surprising to me.
