It used to be stock car racing. Based on cars that Detroit built and you could buy at a dealership. Hasn’t been that way in a long time. Ford and Chevy? They run V-8 cars, rear wheel drive, with engines designed in the 60’s. Can’t get anything like that at a dealership anymore. Toyota? Please. GM had to make a hundred copies of the Monte Carlo and Grand Prix aero versions to be legal in NASCAR back in the 80’s. No genuine “stock cars” since then. But it is an American sport, and they should stick to racing, not virtue signalling.

I love Earnhardt Jr. but he was just a good driver not a great driver and has gone soft and PC, maybe his wife did that to him, but who knows.....

I haven’t kept up with Nascar in at least 30 years. I wasn’t boycotting just no longer found it interesting.
I really miss the days of the big Fords with their 427s and the Plymouths and Dodges with the 426 Hemis. You could identify then at a glance.
NASCAR just ran off the road.
Why do they need an entire month to celebrate perversity? Can’t they just have a special day and be done with it?

I attended NASCAR races in the 90s when the legends still raced. There were waiting lists for tickets at Daytona, Charlotte and Bristol ( probably others). The decline in both TV viewers and seats in the stands has been precipitous, because NASCAR disconnected itself from its base. Like a liberal church that moves further left to stop a membership decline that was caused by moving left, NASCAR is doubling down on stupid and will destroy itself.
Make all race cars look as ambiguous as “Le Cars!”
The seeds of destruction were being sown far and wide for decades. “Woke” is just the Go signal for these lab hybrids to germinate simultaneously across the fruited plain.
There are parables and prophesies for just this situation.
