The city council of Minneapolis has declared that it is in favor of "dismantling" its police force:
Nine of Minneapolis's 12-member City Council appeared at a rally Sunday with activists and vowed to "dismantle" the city's police department.The effort is being spearheaded by Council member Jeremiah Ellison.This aggressive stance comes in the wake of George Floyd's death two weeks ago after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on Floyd's neck during an arrest.
"It is clear that our system of policing is no keeping our communities safe," Council President Lisa Bender said at the rally. "Our efforts at incremental reform have failed, period."
"We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department," Jeremiah Ellison tweeted Thursday.Jeremiah is the son of Keith Ellison, the Muslim Attorney General of Minnesota and staunch supporter of Antifa:"And when we’re done, we’re not simply gonna glue it back together. We are going to dramatically rethink how we approach public safety and emergency response. It’s really past due."

This provides a glimpse into the kind of "community policing" one could expect. Looting would be permissible in areas where "privilege" exists. Minneapolis would see security run by warlords as are seen in Somalia, Mexican-style cartels would control the flourishing drug trade and Taliban like organizations would provide health care and medicines.

The history suggests Minneapolis is in for a tough time.
After riots in some cities in years past, the riot zones still look like war zones years later. If they think these areas will be rebuilt quickly, that’s not going to happen.
And then factor in a city which is committed to doing away with police, what sane business person will do business in that place? What sane person looking for a place to live will want to be there? On the other hand, isn’t it likely that people and businesses still there, will be planning their exits as soon as possible?
Conservative states should be building walls to prevent dysfunctional libs from coming in.
They’ve ruined Colorado and Nebraska. Texas and Georgia are slowly turning blue. Tennessee will soon follow.
You invite them in and they’ll bring the same disease that caused their cities to burn.
