If you are white, take a moment to examine your bookshelf. What do you see? What books and authors have you allowed to influence your worldview, and how you process the issues of racism and prejudice toward the disenfranchised? Have you considered that, if you identify as white and read only the work of white authors, you are in some ways listening to an extension of your own voice on repeat? While the details and depth of experience may differ, white voices have dominated what has been considered canon for eons. That means non-white readers have had to process stories and historical events through a white author’s lens. The problem goes deeper than that, anyway, considering that even now 76% of publishing professionals — the people you might call the gatekeepers — are white.

I just bought a copy of Huckleberry Finn yesterday at Goodwill. Hardcover, illustrated.

It had been deemed ‘excess’ and was given to Goodwill.

I bought to to save it for the future. I was thinking of Ray Bradbury when I bought it......................

Anyone who is paying attention knows that 2020 is the All-Or-Nothing year. We’re dealing with actual Fascists. The other party isn’t “people I don’t like” — they’re Fascists.

If the Democrats get control of the White House, we lose the republic, and we won’t get it back. Emergency Powers will be declared and neither the House nor the Senate will matter. We’ve already seen Executives at the state level rule by fiat. A Democrat president will do the same. I think a hot civil war will be assured.

Some years ago, I read a book written by Derrick Bell called “Ethical Ambition-Living a Life of Meaning and Worth”

At the time, 2003-2004 I could not know he was a radical, and would become a “Friend of Barack”, and all of that, but that part of his philosophy really did not come through in his writing...at least in this book.

When I realized who, and what, he was, I sold the book for a quarter.

When the authors of color create literature with the quality of Dickens, Dante, and Dostoyevsky, I’ll read it. Until then, I’ll stick to the classics.

And I have about 20 blue collar friends who even though they are 52 like me now will do immense damage to anyone who confronts them.

Now myself and many guys I know WANT a confrontation.

We are looking forward to it.

And they will lose badly.

We get bombarded on this site so we think this is how EVERYONE out there is thinking.

This tends to be the place where lots of people post their old textbooks anyway, but since sjws tend to look down their noses at book burners as being like Westboro Baptist Church, they may not be able to bear destroying great literature even if they don’t want their friends to see it on their bookshelves.

Yes, as I’ve said, the next time a Democrat occupies the White House, it is the end of the Republic.
