IMHO it’s a satisfying result in my surveys - I don’t think I’d actually pick Rock-Clock as my #1, but if all were “rated” loosely as another poster once suggested, Rock-Clock would be in that top rating.

I think I’m MORE satisfied with the ‘70s result, but it’s close. Not overly pleased with the ‘80s and ‘60s winner, but it wasn’t bad.

Those are some great threads you post there, Rebel!

I'm usually a regular on these "Chart-Toppers" surveys ... but I am completely out of the loop when it comes to hits from the 1950s!

Well done!

!!!!SONG OF THE 1950s!!!!

"Rock Around the Clock" beats "Mack the Knife."

Interesting that a song written by a Communist made #2--and came close to winning it all--on a conservative website.

Thanks! I remember listeing to many of the oldest ones on Mom’s radio in the kitchen, and dancing to many of the later ones in the church rec hall. Imagine most of today’s pop music — or dance styles— being considered for young teens in churches today — holey moley!

I also remember the older generation of the 50s warning that rock’n’roll music and lyrics would corrupt the youth and degrade the nation, and nobody listened. Now look.
