In the first (slow) version of 'Revolution' Lennon sang 'But when you talk about destruction ... don't you know that you can count me out ... in"

In interviews he said that initially he wasn't sure if he was for violence or not. When they recorded the higher tempo / electric guitar version, he just said 'count me out' because he had decided violence wasn't the way.

But he was on the fence about it for a while, at least.
