A scathing opinion piece has accused Governor Andrew Cuomo of being a villain of the Covid-19 outbreak in New York, not a hero as most media outlets have depicted him. Where it appeared will come as a surprise to many. Cuomo should be one of the most loathed officials in America right now, says Wednesdays opinion piece by Lyta Gold and Nathan Robinson. They proceed to offer a thickly-sourced argument as to why the governor was at fault for New York leading the nation in the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths alike.
As one particularly stunning visual example, they bring up the mask mural, a wall of handmade cloth masks Cuomo showed off to reporters on April 29 as a monument to himself, they say, rather than distributing them to New Yorkers in need, even as he had the NYPD violently arrest residents who didnt have them.

Yet stunningly women fawn all over him- and many liberal NY’ers think nothing of the fact that they are denied life saving drugs during a pandemic
mind numbing-
I remember that propaganda op.
Boy did I catch hell from some FReepers about my curiosity as to why those things weren't already handed out instead of being used as props.
The FReepsplaining was hilarious. They were empty boxes. The venue of the propaganda piece was the warehouse of the Javits Center which was to open in a few days. I can't remember some of the other ones but, man, I sure didn't expect The Spanish Inquistion.
I'm doing my part.
I don’t understand the fawning. Cuomo is an un-lovely one, it seems, inside and out.
They didn't mention Cuomo's disastrous nursing home EO nor did they mention his EO limiting the use of HCQ.
Their complaints boil down to Cuomo not being tyrannical enough. Gold and Robinson wanted an earlier shutdown, more prisoners released from jail, more fear mongering, and less school privatization.
Ineptocracy: A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
This has been known for a while. Why is the Guardian getting around to reporting on it now...?
Modified limited hangout...?
