So the government told Americans we had to shut down our churches house to protect people from the China Virus.
Some states slapped fines on church members who refused to comply. Others were ordered to undergo mandatory quarantines. And several were subjected to surveillance by state police.
Our government leaders told us not to worry because we could still worship online.
But what are Christians supposed to do when Big Tech decides to shut down online church services and Bible studies?
Ray Wright, a Sunday school teacher at Calvary Chapel East Anaheim, announced on Facebook that YouTube had removed his lesson for fifth and sixth graders.
Your video 5th/6th Grade Lesson with Teacher Ray John Baptized and Pointed to Jesus 4-19-2020 was flagged to us for review, the YouTube notice read. Upon review weve determined that it violates our guidelines and weve removed it from YouTube.
Mr. Wright said he was given no further information.
It had no foul language, no nudity, nothing explicit. Just a message about Jesus, he wrote on Facebook. Perhaps it was too uplifting, wholesome, and encouraging? Does YouTube prefer we not teach kids about goodness?
Well, it was either a mistake on YouTubes part of else theyve employed a godless heathen to target Sunday school teachers.

I am not a fan of government involvement in what are supposed to be private companies and free expression. However, the censorship and blocking of some content and not others is only understood through a lens of political values.
If they cannot provide a legitimate reason about why this violates their content rules they must be branded as a publisher responsible for all content. Youtube is forcing this issue - not conservatives.
I believe the internet needs to be treated as a utility and such sites as YouTube and etc as telephone carriers.
At and T and Verizon and sprint dont get to refuse telephones so anyone whose speech they dont like.
At lease the actual internet needs to be so classified.
I’m less of a fan of hyptechrocy where through the use of technology, certain speech is censored and others are not. Why can they not be sued for religious discrimination? Time to stop with the double standards and religious techno persecution through censorship.
I think it is long past time we conservatives begin to use them and publicize our use of them to other conservatives and the general public.
If YouTube will not treat us fairly why should be continue to line their pockets.
No, all platforms must be declared utiliteis and prohibited from censoring content but must provide free and open access, for a fair price. Users must provide censorshiop and purchase and use censorship tools.
agree totally
BTW cell phone providers are NOT considered utilites although they need to be also included with all the other platforms.
They should post at Bitchute.com
I am thinking like the actual monthly service not the physical phone. But still
I think something must be done. The utility idea is interesting. It appears to me that all the big tech companies have the best set-up..... promote what you what and censor what you don’t. While I believe in free markets this has gotten ridiculous and if they cannot be sued (they should be) we need to fix it where they can be.
The Sunday School teacher would have a terrific lawsuit here. John the Baptist for elementary kids? Seriously?
I like how you explain that. Very clear.
There is no free market in the utilites. There is no real free market in google and it is just a utility
So is FB, Twitter, Insa, UTUBE.
as well as cell phones.
the should be nothing but platforms for communicaiton.
“I am not a fan of government involvement in what are supposed to be private companies”
Google isn’t “private” in my opinion. They were started with CIA venture capital money, they do massive government business. They do what projects government can’t by law, and government gives them legal protection.
Including FR?
Google needs to be beaten to death with a sledge hammer.
There should be a size limit. Only mass communications outfits should be required to carry all traffic. Small “club” type sites should be exempt.
1) They are protected by law from being sued over what users post on their sites. But then they police and remove content on their sites. They shouldn't be able to have it both ways.
If they are censuring content on their site, they should be able to be sued. If they are only removing profanity and pornography, they shouldn't. Enough of the right think stuff.
(2) Political contributions. TV and radio stations are not allowed to give preference to political opinions. In other words, if one campaign runs an ad, they can't deny the other campaign from running an ad.
By removing conservative content and allowing liberal content to remain, this is in effect a violation of campaign law.
Memo to churches:
Host your own website and store your content there - no worries about censorship as most webhosts would love your business and see no need to regulate you so long as you aren’t promoting something illegal.
If you’re not tech-savvy enough to create a website, I suggest you visit www.sharefaith.com which is a Christian-based web-hosting site that offers you templates that can give your church a professional-looking website while making the design process easy. You can store your sermons and other audio/video and connect to streaming services for hosting live events.
YouTube is convenient but it leaves you open to censorship, particularly if you mention anything negative about homosexuality, Islam, transgenderism and other subjects the Left decides are too touchy or politically incorrect.
While Disney advances homo “dads”
FR is a website for a specific purpose. Not a national or international communication tool
you are comparing a telephone communication system to local walkie talkies.
