Those Gender Studies and Art History degrees just don’t seem to be panning out. Bummer.

“Glad you had it easy.”

I had it easier but my point was so did most people compared to today. Read my other post

Millenials are not kids. They are in their thirties.

I’m going to have to buy me a Gadsden Flag...

I like flying quite a few different American flags (including the Gadsden flag). Look at the history, and you can display a flag on more than just the officially recognized holidays:
Alamo flag (Feb. 23 - Mar. 6)
Texas Brigade flag (May 31 - June 1)
Bunker Hill flag (June 17)
Fort Moultrie flag (June 28)
Bennington flag (Aug. 16)
Plattsburgh flag ((Sept. 6-11)
Bonnie Blue flag (Sept. 23)
Gonzales flag (Oct. 2)
Some other favorites include the Massachusetts Navy flag ("AN APPEAL TO HEAVEN") and the Missouri battle flag. Not sure the neighbors recognize them all, but most folks who might be offended are also incredibly ignorant, so I haven't had any complaints yet..

;^)

Keep getting those worthless degrees, BUT DO NOT ASK ME TO PAY FOR THEM!

So many of them behave like spoiled children. Very spoiled children.

Imagine this country trying to win WW2 with people who think the corona virus is boomer remover

I said basically the same thing.

You had a generation of college grads living in Mom’s basement during the Obama
Depression. No sooner do they get 3-years of employment, get a new Honda Civic on a 7 year loan, and move into an $800/month apartment they can call their own, but now they are laid off with no way to service the car loan or the monthly rent.

Man, does nature have it in for them. They really have been body slammed by fate. I got caught up in the Reagan Resession of ‘1982-’84, and that was brutal enough. These kids today, they are just getting it from all directions.

Brutal! I really feel for them. They are going to become a cynical lot if this keeps up.

Well, we sent enough of them to the Middle East for the last 18 years. They were good enough for that shit.

Unlike utilities, “insurance” companies are self-regulated monopolies at the state level.

Both of my kids are Millennials. One is a millionaire and the will be one soon. They got an education, made a plan, took some measured risks and worked their butts off. Oh, and they’re nice people too. One is 34 the other is 30.

My greatest objection to all the millennial bashing is this: who is responsible for the millennials being the way they are, assuming they’re all just so bad? If the kids suck, aren’t the parents at least partly to blame? The previous generations failed to preserve the values, knowledge and integrity that this country had previously, so now we have a generation of kids who don’t know their asses from their elbows. That is OUR failure, not theirs.

“I am fine, at least I am self aware and not a selfish economic illerterate like yourself.”

No, you are not. Learn to spell before you tackle economics. Either that or don’t post when you have been drinking!

They should have been around when I got out of college in the Carter era. Terrible economy and 15% interest.

I have a millennial living with me, who got laid off thanks to the virus. Beforehand, she was spending her time partying & traveling. Racked up credit card debt, which she was trying to pay off when this happened.

She told me she regrets failing to set up a savings account. The $600 stimulus check (she worked part-time) she proudly told me she put into a savings account.

She at least has her parents as a cushion. Now she is terrified if they get the virus.

Interesting to see how she changed overnight from party girl to adult -- her whole mood, persona. The corona virus is probably what the 1929 stock market crash was to the flappers.

Trauma usually results in change. For many people, this virus episode and resulting economic calamity is a trauma. A lot of people are going to be making permanent changes going forward.
