I just checked mine. It said it needed my bank info too because it didn’t have enough information. I had to pay this year. But the IRS.GOV site took me to https://sa.www4.irs.gov/irfof-wmsp/bankInfo
to enter my bank info.
It couldn’t make it a better address? That looks so phony. It already had me put in my SSN, DOB, how much I paid, my gross income, and now want my bank account info.
I got a message that, according to their records, they were unable to determine my eligibility. Which is strange, as I file a return every year.
Did they use the same Canadian company that wrote the ObamaCare code?
Dont confuse the stimulus checks with tax refunds. The stimulus checks just started going out today.
If you haven’t been getting refunds over the years, the IRS won’t be depositing it in your bank. We have the double wammy of having moved in May. They don’t have our new address, or didn’t until I filed today. We really could have used it this year.
A family member who uses USBank said it’s been down all day, even phone access.
Thank you. Very helpful.
This is what I read when it says payment status not available....
We are both on ss and owed taxes in the past two years, however we financially qualify for the stimulus. I believe our problem is the last reason.
In certain cases, the Get My Payment app will be unable to tell you the status of your payment. You may receive this message for one of the following reasons:
If you are not eligible for a payment (see IRS.gov on who is eligible and who is not eligible)
If you are required to file a tax return and have not filed in tax year 2018 or 2019.
If you recently filed your return or provided information through Non-Filers: Enter Your Payment Info on IRS.gov. Your payment status will be updated when processing is completed.
If you are a SSA or RRB Form 1099 recipient, SSI or VA benefit recipient the IRS is working with your agency to issue your payment; your information is not available in this app yet.
You can check the app again to see whether there has been an update to your information. Get My Payment data is updated once per day, so theres no need to check back more frequently.
A widely reported problem is that they are using direct deposit information from 2018, even if you filed your 2019 taxes already. If you closed your 2018 bank account, and have a new one for 2019, your deposit is going to a closed account.
Apparently the banks will send the deposit back to the irs, but they haven’t yet said what happens then.
This happened to my son. He received his tax refund today in his new account, but the irs Payment page says the stimulus deposit went to his old account.
So efficient.
My bank website and mobile app went belly up last night and is still crashed. Don’t know if I received the money or not.
I was unable to load the IRS page. Checked my bank at 8 am. Nothing. But at 11:45 I had a check for 1200 pending. The site appears to be having problems keep checking your acct.
I think it may just be getting too many hits at once and people are getting kicked. You can also try resetting your browser to clear out the junk. It’s telling me to screw off, too, on my Android phone, but works fine on my laptop with Brave open, running Win 10.
It wasnt a Canadian company. It was outsourced to India.
Well, I’m drawing SS, but I also still work. I think we’ve gotten what my husband and I are going to receive, based on last year’s taxes.
I did wonder what kind of bureaucratic nightmare I’d be faced with if both the IRS AND SS sent me money - my brother went through hell trying to pay back the SS, after he had begun to draw it and then got a great new job offer.
(Believe it or not, it appears more difficult and confusing to give money BACK to the government, than it is to get it from them ;-)
If you filed 2018 its coming if under $150K AGI for couple.
The “Non Filer” option on the site is for gross income under $12,200 ind / $24,400 couples.
Did you file 2018 return?
Non-Filers only apply to individuals with gross income less than $12,200 and couples $24,400.
What bank?
I’m not a non filer. I filed in 2018, and have done my 2019 taxes but have not submitted them yet.
