The race for the Democrat nomination has narrowed to two leading candidates. President Trump is undoubtedly preparing for either Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden as his 2020 election opponent. We should be able, at this point, to make a reasonable guess at how the president would fare against either of these candidates.

Something significant would have to happen to hurt Trump’s chances. And even then he would still have to play into the left’s hands for it to work. Glad that isn’t happening.
I’m not familiar with Medium, but I don’t see it on the FR Copyright list. Why didn’t you post the whole article?
Don’t trust “experts” regardless of what they say because most of them were very, very wrong in 2016. Get out and VOTE; don’t take it for granted.
If you want to code in all of the pictures, feel free.
Get real, Trump built a global empire, the man has supercharged energy. Biden and Bernie made careers out of sucking the teet of the taxpayers. They’ve done nothing. They’d both get stressed out just reviewing Trumps schedule and itinerary.
Trump KO’s either of these stooges.
That’s when they will unfreeze Hitlery from her Carbonite container.
They could possibly pick up a state by the VP choice, but they will probably rely more on virtue signalling, picking a woman from the "right" racial category. But they are just helping themselves marginally with a group that is already in their corner.
In 2016 the VP choices probably didn't impact the race. Hillary probably would have taken Virginia anyway and Trump almost certainly would have taken Indiana without Pence. But Pence helped him in other states by reassuring conservative voters. I don't know if Kaine helped Hillary outside Virginia. Maybe with securing the clown vote.
The D primaries have been a deplorable exhibition of finding the weakest possible candidate. Theyre tossing the election. (Unless theyve got a surprise new candidate to spring on us at the convention or ... ?)
NEITHER Sanders NOR Biden has a prayer of defeating DJT. = That’s why I expect the DIMocRATS to pick someone else either before or at the convention.
Do NOT underestimate the DIMocRATS ability to change course 180 degrees and/or TO LIE like rugs.

If Obama & Biden opened a lemonade stand, it will go broke in 3 days.
The big question is: Who will the Rats pick as their nominee?
Biden if he is the nominee must pick a far left winger for VP to try and bring back the Bernie voters. The DNC has screwed Bernie again. It will be hard to get the Bernie progressives to unit behind Biden. Biden’s only hope us to go full bore left wing progressive to get these voters. This will turn off most but the left left left wing voters.
It is most obvious that Biden will not make a second term due to age and senility and probably not complete his first term if elected. Thus, the VP pick which in normal circumstances is not important will be very important in the election. Trump must attack Biden (if he is the nominee) but must destroy the left wing progressive he selects as VP. Both should be political targets.
Biden now holds a commanding lead. It is not certain he will be the nominee.
Not at all correct. They will get a government subsidy, sell ten cent lemonade for 5 cents and collect the subsidy at a great profit.
Why would I want to do that? Get real, Horse Face.
And what will the winner of the election have to be President of? A nation that is bankrupt and in the midst of a civil war.

I think conservatives should take a different, Constitutional approach in 2020.
If this virus is really so serious, then every state should select its Presidential Electors via the state legislature. There is no Constitutional obligation to hold public elections. So why risk it?
State legislators could vote via the web or by phone, just to be extra safe.

Plus, Biden would wander off and go missing, prior to day three.
It’s the opposite of 1944 when the party bigwigs forced FDR to drop Henry Wallace because he was too far to the left and replace him with Harry Truman for VP.
Now they need a VP who is even further to the left than their nominee. But if they get someone who is a certified loony leftist to satisfy the Bernie supporters that could turn off middle of the road voters who realize that Biden might not last 4 years. And having restricted his choice to a woman gives Biden limited options—someone who is far left and doesn’t scare voters away and has at least a modicum of relevant experience. If Kamala Harris or Valerie Jarrett were the least bit likable they would be strong contenders.
