Grocery Store Reports: Location And Status- Post Here
03/14/20

Posted on 03/14/2020 7:15:20 AM PDT by Enlightened1

I am in Cary, North Carolina. Here is what I just saw.

Just came back from the Harris Teeter off of

270 Grande Heights Dr
Harrison Pointe Shopping Center
Cary, NC 27513

This store is normally well stocked, and you never have trouble finding anything. This morning it was about 65% full. Cleaning supplies, TP, meat, milk and bread were all very low or gone.
The body washes were low. There were lots of empty shelves.

I was listening to the the employee at the cash register. She said there were a lot of people coming into the store and buying anywhere from $600 to $800 worth of groceries. Harris Ts said they were trying to restock the shelves, but the demand was so hight they were having trouble keeping up.I could see the store was restocking the shelves, but wow I have never seen it so empty!

As long as President Trump can keep the supply chain moving, then we will be in good shape. This is evidence on why we should not be so dependent on China for everything.  If this was the 1990s and going back, then this would not even be an issue. Thanks to the stupid politicians that sold us out.  It is a modern version of the Indian Chiefs selling out their tribes for guns, booze and trinkets.

Exactly. Glad I’m not the only one disturbed by conservatives looking for the gub’mint to “do something” in a crisis.

We have trade treaties negotiated through the Federal government.

So yes the Feds have tools.

If you are talking about pure Capitalism, then we should not even have a private company called the Fed that pretty much attempts to manage our economy.

“And this is just 20 miles out of NYC.”

I think it probably is more likely because of it’s proximity to a mega-metropolis area instead of “in spite of” as the reason for the empty shelves.
I would hazard a guess in the middle of NY state the situation would be different, it takes time for things like this to occur the further you are from a densely populated area.

“Also, if you work in a toilet paper factory, enjoy your overtime!”

We will see how concerned the Libs are about trees when they can’t wipe their backsides.

Walmart in rural SW PA.

Most crowded I've seen but polite, homogeneous crowd, if you know what I mean.

No chicken, tp, paper towels, dust masks, gloves or alcohol.

Everything else was good.

This is another 5D chess move by President Trump.

Saudi Arabia just ‘so happened’ to flood the market with ultra low cost oil at the same time that our stock markets were crashing due to Corona Virus (as if that wasn’t planned) in an attempt to crash the US markets as well as to put US oil companies out of business.

US Oil producers need about $30 per barrel of oil and conveniently Saudi Arabia dumped oil at around +- $20 per barrel to hurt both Russia and America.

Well it just so happens that Obama had lowered our strategic oil reserves for his slush fund and then spent the dough buying votes. So there’s plenty of room in our storage facilities for lots more oil.

Instead of what would have been an economic disaster, taking the USA from being a top Oil producer down to being the #1 in the number of oil companies going out of business...

President Trump saw the move as a great deal on oil, at ultra low prices...

So he declared a national emergency, freeing up US Federal Funds which allowed him to suck up all the oil that Saudi Arabia dumped on the market, at a super low price for the USA Strategic Reserves!

That move basically sucked all the wind out of Saudi Arabia’s attempt to crash the oil market and got us millions of gallons of oil for our oil reserves... in ONE MOVE!

LMAO x1000

The leftists that probably planned this entire monetary system attack are so pissed that they want to sue him claiming that what he did was illegal.

The President put through an emergency proclamation. The feds have authority to suspend the trucking hours of service regs for commercial drivers serving disaster/emergency relief. That will help supplies and provisions keep moving.

Found corned beef brisket — but no cabbage. 8-(.

Same story here in Littleton, Colorado. Lots of corned beef brisket, but no other fresh meats.

Certainly in a real delivery crisis, but we’re presumably not nearly there yet. NYC has the regional markets for fresh veggies, fish, meat, etc.

I think a lot of it just had to do with a big surge in demand and they will restock. Wouldn’t surprise me if some of the trucks were held up because some of what they were expecting to pick up wasn’t there. But I think as the weeks go on here, it is going to get significantly worse before it gets better.

When he declared an emergency yesterday. One result is waiving the truck driver hours limits.

Great idea. This happens at the state level when an emergency is declared. No reason it can't happen nationally.

Costco has a very liberal return policy and has for years. Don’t see any limitation on returning food items.

Giant & Weis markets picked over pretty well. Staff is tired but in great spirits, folks in the aisles friendly, patient.

I’m stocked but went to buy more a few ingredients I was missing (going to spend the day cooking up a lot of the stuff I’ve bought over time and freezing it).

Beer store running low on popular brands (bought the last two Yeungling lights).

Went to the tobacco store to cash some scratch-offs, lot of empty shelves.

"Keep your foot hard on the pedal. Son, never mind them brakes.
Let it all hang out 'cause we got a run to make.
The rears are filthy in Atlanta and there's wipe in Texarcana.
And we'll bring it back no matter what it takes."

I'm not sure even ol' Jerry could have made that one work.

Then, 3 days ago, stocked up on food perishables that can’t be frozen such as fresh eggs, fruit, veggies, etc

Making pancakes with the eggs, milk & fruit. Making omelettes with the veggies and eggs. All freezable.

Might as well put this stuff to use.

He can do it by dumping regulations, red tape and taxes that otherwise cripple our manufacturing, production, transportation and distribution networks. Keep commerce flowing.

I live in tornado country and we just keep a few gallons of fresh water just in case.

When our area got hit a few years back..without power for several days. My kids found out what cold showers are like. LOL!

Just got back from Sams Club, Fridley MN. Arrived 1 min after opening and lot was packed, however inside was not crowded.....yet. Within 15 minutes it was like Black Friday.
Entire paper section was empty except for napkins.
Meat section was nearly empty as well except for a few big tubes of burger and ribs.
Canned meats were gone except for tuna.

The only tortillas left were a few high fiber and whole wheat. Zero pasta left.

Liquor store had lots of Old Mil 30 packs. Bought 4 =)
