Yes, any preventable death is bad, but I have never seen so much hype over a viral pandemic as this in my 60 years since arriving in United States.

It will be a long time before Covid-19 will kill 75,000 Americans, if at all. But I do not recall the hype in 2009 about H1N1. But it was Obama administration in charge, so media had no reason to freakout.

A death is a death whether it is from common Flu or covid-19. Both common flu and covid require the same precautions to minimize chance of infection. While it may be true that covid-19 is more infectious than common flu, if it kills less than 52,000 Americans this season, why does it deserve so much more hype than Flu?

Many cancers occur due to bad behavior by people. Stastically smokers and 2nd hand smokers get at least 5 times more lung cancer than non-smokers. Obese people get more cancers than people those who are not. So where is the hype about enormous cost of treating cancer patients?

Are any auto accdents preventable? For sure if you do not drive whendrunk or high on ganja or while texting. Why media is not hyping that aspect which major cause of auto accidents?

Those people were shot by somebody else, and their deaths are just as final as those caused by covid-19. I can't even imagine the freakout by media if 15,292 die from covid-19 this year.

Unfortunately the panic seems to be picking up speed, with seemingly everyone fanning the flames. We are flying towards the cliff, and if we go over the edge, our childrens children may be paying the price.

Hard to find stats of how many kids have it or have had it...the death rate for 10-19 year-olds is 0.20%, so roughly 260 fatalities in that age group. The 0-9 age group has had no reported fatalities. What is your definition of a “kid”? 0-18? Some mortality by age stats here:

My thinking is China was preparing stealth bio weapons to fight tariffs for future use. Some weapon which would be difficult to trace the origin of attack. But the covid-19 got released by accident inside Hubei province, which was most likely not intentional. I heard rumors some low level workers in charge of disposing dead test animals at the bio-lab in city of Wuhan sold the dead animals for meat...but use grain of salt, it is not official news.

The media loves drama and chaos, the Dems need a hail mary, the over hype is part human nature and part devious intentional panic tactics from the media.
