I believe somebody from the DNC offered Buttigieg a clear path to the Democrat nomination for Todd Young’s Indiana senate seat in 2022 for him to drop out before Super Tuesday. He should have dropped out 1 day after Super Tuesday.
If he quits he doesn’t get to keep his delegates. If he stays in, in name alone, he gets to keep his delegates until the first vote at the convention. Being that delegates are proportional rather than winner take all, he could have got more delegates. Small amounts that could have affected the outcome of the convention. There can’t be a brokered convention with two candidates. Just food for thought. He could have waited until after Super Tuesday, and announced this Wednesday, but someone promised him something.
