Then, age 70, then age 65.....and “obese” no help, alcohol drinker no help, blood pressure elevated no help, sedentary no help. Their panel’s choice—not the family or the person.
“How many old people can we afford to allow to keep alive on our new healthcare budget?”-—the new question which the under 30 crowd will like. Maybe bonus of $1,000 to the family if the oldster is euthanized. Tax free.

I was stationed on a training base in the Air Force. One of the benefits was free health care for family members and so the Flight Surgeons Office was filled to the brim every day with young mothers taking the kid to the doctor when they got the sniffles. They couldn’t keep the doctors for more than their first tour.
Still true today in every service. End of first tour separation is in the 75% plus range.

I dare him to tell his ex-wife Susan and his sister Marjorie that they aren’t worth spending the money if they get sick. And will he cancel his own insurance as soon as he gets home? and put His money where his mouth is? For thee not me is the progressive agenda.
But one thing about elderly medicine - oftentimes it leads to discoveries that help younger people mitigate disease.
Why is the media lying about what he said? Did anyone on this thread actually watch the clip? He said “prostate cancer”. There are studies that conclude that prostate surgery actually shortens your lifespan. At 95, I don’t think many doctors would recommend surgery for prostate cancer. For that matter nearly every male has prostate cancer by the age of 95.
You are missing the point. Bloomberg is saying that government bureaucrats should make the decision to deny medical care, not the doctor.
Once you start down that road it won’t be long before the government starts euthanizing non productive people to save money.
