I lived in Utah for about 18 months. I cannot believe this article from the NYTimes. The Mormons I knew would be all in for Trump.

The party with the most members gets the committees.
That is the problem.
We don’t want the senate to be run by a version of Shiff.
He sounded errily like GHWB.
“....Utahs sizable Mormon population is deeply unsettled by a sense of Donald J. Trumps moral shortcomings...”
What moral shortcomings? A guy who likes to get laid once in awhile? Oh the horror!
Don't get me wrong, I don't think Obama was a good president, but Romney would have been a disaster, and our side would have owned the mess he and Ryan would have made.
Im not gonna blame Mormons but Mannequin Mittens. He should judge the man in his mirror for being a traitorous backstabber and double-crosser by his own actions.
Take your cult and shove it, Utah.
This is bull, lots of Mormon on Wife’s side of the family and all are currently anti Romney!
Speaking as a person with greater than average religious convictions (and, yes, I fail on a moral level quite often - that’s a hazard of being human), I have a message for those Mormons (no, I’m not a Mormon, but I respect their right to believe what they do and to practice their religion):
Perhaps, instead of focusing on Mr. Trump’s (or any politician’s, for that matter) moral short-comings, perhaps you ought to consider that:
1) politicians are not SUPPOSED to be moral leaders. We have priests, ministers, pastors, rabbis, etc. for that (depending upon our beliefs, of course). Even those moral leaders are not pure of either thought or action, but at least it is their chosen calling to help others (us) improve our moral thoughts and to help us make our actions correspond to those improved thoughts.
2) Politicians have another function - that is to act within the “real” world, to deal with and protect us from evil people. Yes, some of them are corrupt - and they are from every religious faith, or they could be agnostics or outright atheists. Some of those evil people are from other nations, and they seek to expand their power by force - people such as Hitler, Tojo, Stalin, Mao and others of similar outlook. Sometimes our leaders - imperfect as they were - had to do horrible things to protect us, and our right to practice our religions and teach our children, from those people. Sometimes, in order to achieve a domestic situation in which we are able to earn a good enough living to afford to give charity, and to send our children to religious schools, these leaders have to make compromises with people who oppose our beliefs and our practice of them.
In short, we elect politicians for NON-religious reasons, though their actions may impact our right and/or ability to practice our religion. Donald Trump is surely not even close to being a morally perfect man - yet he has stopped oppressive and aggressive regimes overseas from expanding their influence and murdering thousands or more people; he has ordered the killing of profoundly evil terrorists who surely would have murdered hundreds or thousands of people. He has strengthened our military so that would-be aggressors do not dare start wars with us. On the religious front, he has solidly backed Israel, which our common Bible tells us is the right thing to do. He has also appointed many federal judges who have, and will continue to, protect our right to free speech, the free exercise of our religion, and the right to keep and bear arms - necessary sometimes for us to protect ourselves against evil people.
God has a purpose for everyone, and He cannot always find a morally upstanding person to fulfill His desires for this material world. Cyrus the Great was a brutal man, who started wars that killed hundreds of thousands of people - and, yet, he was one of God’s annointed because of what he did for the Jews of that era who were under his control.
By all means, chose and support those religious leaders who are best for your community. But please, please, support those politicians on a local, state and national level who will do the best job in protecting us, ensuring our liberties and our prosperity. We don’t just live inside of our churches and synogogues, we live in the “real” world where evil lurks. Trust God that He will present us with political choices that will ensure that His vision for this world is fulfilled.
FFS... they are showing a NYT headline and even mentioning Harry Reid. Say what you will about the religion and its leaders, but Mormons by and large love Trump. Im sure they have a huge case of buyers remorse with Romney.
Are you seriously taking the New York Times at its word, just because they are painting the Utah Latter-day Saints in a particular light?
This is the New York Times, for crap’s sake.
As a Latter-day Saint, I LOVE President Trump and LOATH Mitt Romney, whom I refer to as a “Backstabbing Weasel.”
Before portraying my Church negatively, get the facts right first. Most of us prefer the president over the Weasel.
This story is baloney. Mormons are generally conservative, and I doubt that they will reelect Romney now that he has taken his “principled” stand. Romney has a personal dislike for Trump. That’s all this is about.
Mitt Romney is a boil in Need of a lancing. STAT
Whoever runs against this m******r I will send them all the money that I possibly can and beg friends and family to do the same
I hope he suffers 3rd degree burns in hell...

We cant say Free Republic doesnt have its very own contingent of knee-jerkers.
He wants to see Putin from his house.
Well, it sure did Glenn Beck a world of good.
So what was Pierre doing a few years back at some stupid celebutard event, it may have been some MTV awards or something of that ilk.
He made quite the show of himself trying to fit in and do the red carpet slog.
You could hardly find a more decent, moral, and upstanding group to party with than the MTV crowd.
I think carpetbaggers are automatically disqualified from statesman status.
As is anyone calling himself Pierre.
Thats just the monicker we want for our CIC.
