Sorry, but every Mormon I know loves Trump. No question that Romney uses his faith as a cover, and I’m sure his “have to follow my conscience” line will work on some Mormons, but you can find easily fooled people anywhere.
The real focus should be on Romney’s connections. And I don’t mean to the LDS Church.

Joseph Smith was a fraud. The reason the Mormon “church” supported multiple marriages is that Joseph Smith was screwing every wife in the congregation. When confronted, he defended himself by saying that he was God’s true prophet with a direct line to God and that God had ordained that men should have multiple wives. Of course, the other men in the “church” thought that was a pretty good idea. Mormonism is a bizarre cult. Eff Romney!
No, that stat is misleading. There was a third party candidate from Utah (only on the ballot in a few states) that got 20-some percent of the vote in Utah. Hillary only got 27% there.

I agree...Salt Lake has been electing Rat mayors for decades. I believe there has been a Rat mayor since 1976. The rest of the state is primarily GOP. A guy like Romney suits the greatest percentage of the population. He is Rat enough to satisfy Salt Lake, and GOP/Mormon enough to satisfy the rest. He would probably be reelected in 2024, if he runs. In my experience, Mormons are polite and mostly mild-mannered, Trump must rub some of them the wrong way.
