Anyone else ever received a call from yourself?
To: Responsibility2nd
About 4-6 weeks, our home phone rang.
My wife picked up the phone and started laughing.
Our Comcast home business phone and number had dialed us.
Some how the call went through.

They didn’t actually hijack your number.
They just spoofed it in caller ID.
IF they really hijacked your number, then all the outbound robo-calls made from your number would show up in your phone bill/statement.

Well I talk to myself and I hear other voices that talk to me and Sometimes I hear my Own voice calling me.
But that’s a whole bunch of other issues...

I had a call once that had a strange tone. When I went back to my computer the camera was on.

Yup, happened once so far.
Fortunately I know the guy who owns that number - he’s a jackass - so I didn’t bother to answer...

Yes, I did about 2 years ago. I had been receiving robocalls - all from my exchange, which I routinely blocked, but when I received a call from my number calling my number I wasn’t sure whether to block it or not. I decided not to.

Had it happen to us. Our biggest problem is when they use our business number and we get a call back from an irate person wanting to know why we keep calling them. Theyre generally apologetic when we tell them it wasnt us.

They can spoof any number they want to. To use the number they’re dialing is a bit of humor/cynicism on their part.

I called myself once, and I answered.
I wanted to be sure it was me, so I asked me a question.
Where were you born?
In a hospital.
I knew it was me then.

I Do remember first getting calls with my area code and first 3 numbers :)
I was confused for a minute but by the 2nd or 3rd call I realized what was going on.
somebody probably thought that was the greatest idea since...the last dumb idea :)

So far just today, I have had my final call for lower credit card rates four times and three from Apple insisting an I-cloud account I don’t have has been breached.

Yep. On both land line and on cell ... caller ID is the same number as the device I am on.

I’ve received several calls from myself. Pretty weird. Like you I ignore numbers I do not recognize.

They’re just spoofing the ID information... you can make the number read whatever you want, or nothing at all.

You are correct.
One time I didn’t answer a robocall and I had an auto-reply...
“I’m sorry I can’t take your call right now”.
I soon got a text back. From a real person. “Who is this?”
