Unplanned is one of those films that have many distinct attributes to it. For one, its composition is so well done, that it makes you look at the substance of a very controversial issue in a very unique way. Second, apart from being one of the most definitive films of 2019, it is a film that will play an important part of a movement . For many years to come. Thirdly, this film stirs up contention among extremely political special interest groups, which in turn raises awareness to the substance to the cause, and debate as well. But once you see the film, and become acquainted with Abby Johnsons story, you will not only see why it is so effective, but you will also see why her experiences regarding her previous involvement and advocacy on this issue make for a very potent case for the contrary.
The Story:
Meet Abby Johnson (Ashley Bratcher), an ambitious and dedicated worker for Planned Parenthood, who moved up the ranks to become one the youngest clinical directors to work for the organization to date. On September 26th, 2009, Abby was asked into the clinics procedure room to assist in an ultra-sound guided abortion. What she saw in there changed everything she ever felt about the issue of abortion.

Excellent film...Went to theater to see it!
King’s University profs want apology after anti-abortion film Unplanned screened
Funny how people supposedly became outraged and afraid at the school that a nurse changed her mind about participating in murdering unborn babies-
BTTT.
At Redbox right now (at least in my area) is a good Christian film that profits are going to help Christian Associations in my area. It’s called The Favorite, and no, it’s not the one about Princess Anne. It’s a prodigal son story and how God does a miracle bringing two brothers together.
I hope you don’t mind my mentioning it here, but it is a good work of a movie.
If you have a chance to see it, I do recommend it.
agree-very well done and impactful
Right??? You know, to build on your point in that the movie is about a nurse who changed her mind about abortion, it’s funny how the reaction these people are having towards this movie is not too far off from the subject that the film “No Safe Spaces” (with Dennis Prager and Adam Corolla) addresses. What’s even more outrageous is that the outrage is being conducted by so many faculty members of what is supposed to be a Catholic institution. And they are using a left-wing political approach to the matter, framing it as though it is an “ideological”, “right wing” propaganda film, when it is nothing of the sort. It just tells a story. It’s fascinating, and yet disturbing at the same time to witness just how someone can turn a simple true life experience, and turn it into a controversy replete with all kinds of political labels, buzzwords, and reactions.
Great! No problem! Thank you so much for your recommendation!
I highly recommend Unplanned!
When I was a liberal I was a die hard pro abortionist. Then my first niece was born and that sh!t went out the window.
Can’t find it.

That was an excellent interview- do you by any chance have a link to it? Been awhile since i heard it
That is fantastic. I was a lukewarm supporter of abortion until our first (of five) was born. It made a great impression on me the first night I sat up with her to get her to sleep and felt her on my shoulder, snuggling in.
Abortion is Molech worship and of the devil.
I haven’t seen “Unplanned” yet, but this would be a good place to remind people of “October Baby” that came out a few years ago.
A powerful film.
The movie was very good, but it is rated R, and there are some scenes that are tough to watch. (I’m sure the scenes in real life were tougher to watch.)
My late brother was a deacon in his church and they had a rule on not watching any movies rated 'R' or worse. This is a common and mostly sensible rule in the more observant churches. However, there are these movies that have this rating for reasons other than sexual situations.
When Mel Gibson's 2004 movie, "The Passion of the Christ" came out, I pointed out to him that he should discuss this rule within his church as it would hardly bring any disrepute for a congregant to see a deacon going to see that 'R' rated movie.
My further comment was that with Hollyweird being the ones to rate their own products and with their LEFT biases, these rules need to be discussed on an individual basis rather than being absolutes. We did go with family to see that one and select others in the years before his passing.
Abby spoke at our local right-to-life annual meeting this past year. Riveting!! She explained something that was not clear in the movie. They did not use ultra-sound during their procedures because it adds 3 minutes to the time of each abortion (even though it is much safer and avoids damage to the women). However, this was a visiting doctor and advocate of using ultra sound, so she was called in to help. I cannot imagine not using ultra sound for the safety of the woman just because it adds 3 minutes to the procedure. But - as they say - time is money. . .
Im sure you mean well.......and we had that rule for our children too!
But if ever a teen needs to see a movie, it is certainly this one!
This movie cuts through the Planned Parenthood lies like no other!!!
13 and above should see it!
13 yr olds can and do get pregnant!
They need to know the facts.
My rule for our family is we don’t see rated R movies unless there is a significant historical or cultural reason to do so. The examples I use are Schindler’s List and The Passion of the Christ.
I think you replied to the wrong person. I just pointed out that "it is rated R, and there are some scenes that are tough to watch" so that people don't go in expecting a sanitized version.
My family rule is right above this post. There are rated R movies we will see and rated G movies that we won't.
