JANUARY 17, 2020|3:08 PM ROD DREHER You might have heard about Whitefield Academy, the private Christian school in Louisville, Kentucky, that expelled Kayla Kenney, a 15-year-old student, for posting on social media a photo of herself with a rainbow cake. On the surface, it looked ridiculous: this priggish Christian school kicking a teenager out for merely having a rainbow cake for her birthday.
The story has gone viral in the national media. The Washington Post, for example, reported:

So it was a 'set-up' for attention, or, financial gain ?
Sounds like a setup for a lawsuit.
In addition, vaping, cutting classes, bad grades, and bullying. 2 years of trouble.

The answer to your question is yes.
I am very familiar with the contents of the agreements that students and parents must execute for attendance at this type of school.
Her expected behavior and the behavior of the parents in relation to expectations of the students are well spelled out.
The one I had to do for my daughter left no room for wriggle.
As it should be.
It is/was a Christian private school.
Every instructor/teacher (at least in my daughters) was an ordained minister and every subject was allied with tenets of the Bible, as much as possible.
It was our choice for my daughter to attend (along with a check, of course), we knew what was going to be expected and we had no problem with it.
This child had the same situation.
Rather than continue to act out in contravention with Christian tenets, it's apparent she chose to remain and "fight the system", so to speak.
There is no grounds for a lawsuit.
It's a Constitutional issue and the school is well within their rights.
I expect the child and her parents will lose "bigly".
Too bad there wasn’t an ark somewhere on the cake. It would have taken on an entirely different, and acceptable, meaning.

Mom wants to win the lawsuit lottery because her bratty kid was expelled for perfectly good reasons-she and the kid didn’t meet the terms of the agreement they signed...
Even the little Christian school way out here in BFE has an agreement like that-I haven’t heard of any student doing drugs, posting about sex-any sex-on instagram, farcebook, etc and being expelled-things are different out here in redneck country-parents apparently understand what “you signed an agreement” means...
being an attendee and graduate of a christian school i can attest first hand you must abide to all rules on and off campus to prevent immediate expulsion...
it appears she continued to push the limits after repeated warnings to stop...
Without a doubt, the school must’ve made the parent sign papers agreeing to school policies.
Hope the parent doesn’t waste the school’s time with an attempted lawsuit.
Still, the parent is trying to make the school look bad, but luckily, we now know there’s more to the story.

most parents knowingly send their problem children to these schools for disciplinary purposes...

turned out to be party central if you were smart enough not to publicly broadcast anything committed against regulations on or off campus...
The original story was obviously fake news.
The world has gone mad. This will not end well and it may be that there’s little normal people can do to reverse it. So what does one do to escape from this insanity?
I’m starting to believe that one should get out of the cities at all costs. Second, limit TV for your kids’s sake and your own sanity. Third, establish a strong network of like-minded people. I don’t think anyone can weather modern society independently.
