The wonder here is that it’s _only_ $80 million. When you can buy lottery tickets for prizes that large—and up, up, up!—no one’s going out of their way to try. It’s a Federal agency rounding error. Box office flops cost more to make. It was probably yanked out the remainder of the deceased general’s operating funds, since no one else in their government would want to give up theirs. They’re just hoping some random dummy decides all on their lonesome to do it and good luck collecting.

I agree with you 100%. After they’ve verified this was the game in the Ukraine, there can be absolutely no doubt this was the ploy here as well. It’s only a question of how much of the majority of the 150 billion was laundered back into the hands of the arch criminals who made this deal. May they all burn in hell.
