It is very tough being a mom in this day and age, Sia Cooper, a single Mom of two said in a post. Social media makes it so easy to be judged and to judge others. I have been judged for using canned goods all the way to me having tattoos you cannot win with some people."
In response to them,Sia penned an honest open letter, explaining why she embraced that label. Her post has resonated with over 28,000 people, many of whom applauded both Sias honesty and her philosophy on raising kids.
...Social media makes it so easy to be judged and to judge others
Get OFF antisocial media
Kill Facebook, Twitter, etc.
I don’t care.
Her kids look very happy.
Thank God I didn’t have a mom like Halle Berry.
Berry throws a damn fit if her ex lets their daughter have french fries.
Social media really is a curse for good social skills and interaction. When you talk face to face with someone you watch your words. You pick up body language and facial expression. Repercussions are immediate and you can make small course corrections. (Hello Mrs BBQToadRibs, sorry.)
Behind a screen You’re an invulnerable Commander of the 101st Chairborne and carpet bomb the media platform. All nuance is gone. Fire for effect, baby.
I talk face to face the same way I talk on facebook. And I’ve had people unfriend me, but precede it with a long, insulting and expletive laced rant.
Problem is, on Facebook I treat everyone the same. I’m nice to women in real life. I speak to them like they are men on facebook (and here). So my first statement isn’t totally accurate, but it demonstrates how it’s easier and more effective to be direct with men with whom you disagree than with women. One needs to candy coat it.
I’ll judge her for being a blogger.
Nobody asked for her expert opinion.
I think you and I are of a certain age where we’ve honed our social skills and interaction based on decades of face to face interactions.
I worry about teenagers born into this social media world, who live and die by “likes” and number of followers. It’s not healthy for your own personal development of self worth and confidence always looking to social media for confirmation. I find it concerning.
That’s funny
Thanks. I needed that post. ;)
If social media disappeared,I would not care or even notice. Overall,it has done a enormous disservice to society because humans are rather defective.
Social media makes it so easy to be judged and to judge others. I have been judged for using canned goods all the way to me having tattoos you cannot win with some people.”
What kind of dumb-assed, masochistic fool puts their life up on Facebook?
Some people are just too stupid to be happy.
What about this website?
...What about this website?
This is not social media.
She might want to consider that there’s actually some truth to what people are telling her.
Heard a radio interview recently that the speaker said the we have replaced social interaction with social media. Social interaction is where we learn compassion and empathy, social media teaches the opposite.
The belief is that 55% of communication is body language, 38% is the tone of voice, and 7% is the actual words spoken.
I work with the public, sometimes on issues that concern them deeply.
I make a conscientious effort to observe their body language and their tone and also to control my own.
Nice abs, pretty daughter.
Count your blessings, honey.
I didn’t see it in a quick read of the story but where’s dad(s)? She’s inherently a bad mom if she had kids just to have kids with no plans of giving them a dad.
