Paula White, President Donald Trump’s spiritual advisor, is joining the White House staff — seen as a move to boost relations with Christians. She gave a prayer at a June rally saying “demonic networks” have aligned themselves against Trump and vowed that the president “will overcome every strategy from hell and every strategy from the enemy.” [TheHill]
Topping the news: The House voted to formalize the impeachment inquiry into Trump. Democratic Utah Rep. Ben McAdams was the only member of Utah’s delegation to vote for it. [Trib] [Fox13] [StandEx]
-> Utah Gov. Gary Herbert wrote a letter to Trump asking that more refugees be sent to Utah to resettle, saying there is plenty of room and resources for those in need. [Trib]

I am LCMS but have spent much of my life running in evangelical/charismatic/Pentecostal circles. Of all the possible advisors Trump could have chosen, Paula White is not the first, second, or two-thousandth choice I would have suggested. I hope God has something in mind that I can’t see, but this will not bring him more evangelical support, and will give the leftist intelligentsia more fodder to become further convinced of Trump’s supposed absurdity.
Unfortunately, I believe Trump just finds her attractive, and he likes to see attractive women around him. His Achilles heel. Paula White is an embarrassing hire.

Attractive!? She looks like a 21st century version of Tammy Fay Baker. What’s under that makeup is plumb scary.
She’s a thrice married prosperity gospel televangelist. I don’t think that true evangelicals will be impressed with her addition to the team.
Who is Paula White?
I wish President Trump would keep his distance from her. I’ve watched her program on one of the Christian cable channels. She doesn’t do sermons, she does infomercials (”God wants you to send me a $300.00 Faith Seed.”) She often has prosperity hustler Steve Muncey on the show with her (”God has directed me to tell you to send Paula a $300.00 Faith Seed”).

While I strongly agree, God has a habit of selecting his biggest screw ups for his most important work.
Look at Moses as he was a murderer.
Saul’s persecuting and killing Christians.
Peter, denied Jesus.
David, an adulterer.
Yep. I think she's just a pseudo-Christian celebrity who looks good on camera, if female, and is marketable. That's the attraction for Trump.
She is s prosperity evangelist.
Trump is a prosperity president.
A thrice married prosperity gospel televangelist. She prayed over Trump once and apparently has been a vocal supporter of his.

I pray regularly for Trump’s spiritual protection.
Paula White sucks. Reaching out to a fraud is not going to help Trump.
