Bill Penzey, the owner of Penzeys Spices, is putting his money where his mouth is by promoting on Facebook the impeachment of President Donald Trump, according to a report from Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) on Wednesday.
According to advertising data released by Facebook, Penzeys Spices, a Wauwatosa-based spice company, spent $109,933 between Oct. 1 and Oct. 7 posting and reposting an ad that called Trumps phone call with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky a mandatory open and shut case for the impeachment,' WPR reported.
The same report notes that Penzey claims the amount he has spent in support of impeachment is now over $124,000.
The cost of the ad campaign by Penzey in support of impeachment actually exceeds what Democratic candidate for president Elizabeth Warren spent on Facebook ads in support of impeachment, $20,000, during the same period, according to a report in Axios.
Penzeys advertising on Facebook, ostensibly about promoting the direct marketing of spices by his company, has become so partisan that the social media company has reclassified Penzeys ads to about social issues, elections or politics.
The owner of Penzeys Spices has also made it a point to repeatedly insult potential Republican customers in his company newsletter by calling them racists. That pattern continued in this ad.
The reality is the Republican Party has turned its back on conservative values and has instead come to embrace the textbook racism of white nationalism, Penzey wrote in the ad. For the worlds greatest military power to embrace nationalism is scary-dangerous.
Penzey told WPR that while he has heard from conservatives unhappy with his company engaging in politics, he does not plan to change his advertising strategy.
I think in this coming election theres going to be a lot of opportunities for businesses that have values to share those values with their customers, he told WPR. And I think thats going to work out well for the businesses that do.
However, Penzey wrote in the ad that the loss of business from conservatives has hurt the company.
Ive always seen our mission as promoting and protecting the kindness found at the heart of cooking, Penzey wrote. Its cost us, but I dont see any way of us being us without standing up to the cruelty the Republican Party is now promoting.
Ironically, a recurring complaint in Penzeys ads is how campaign finance laws allow conservative organizations to financially support Republican candidates. Yet Penzey continues to use his company and its revenue to support Democrats.
Haven’t bought any Penzy’s spices in a couple of years. Used to have a pantry full.
Years ago, before the political screeds, the catalog’s customer stories increasingly featured those who were involved in do-good liberal activities, and less on basic wholesome family gatherings about cooking with grandma.
Noticing this trend toward celebrating social activist causes through the ruse of their cooking with Penzey’s spices, I wondered how long before the “families” would be two women, or men. Well sure enough I think it was the next catalog. No more orders from me. Then the push really began with the love wins equal logo and so forth. I moved soon thereafter, and never updated my address.
I had wondered if Bill were a fake persona like Betty Crocker (sorry for the bad comparison, Betty), or if Bill were the radical family member who stealthly wormed into a trusted position of authority before earnestly activating his social justice destruction as the ulterior motives became manifest.
And plus how irksome to find myself wasting my time contemplating any of this in the first place! Kind of like now, lol.
Liberals are a bunch of cheap bastards. They only like to spend other people’s money. They won’t go out and buy this guys crap.

One of the biggest f’n libtards in my state. Fuch their spices. May they go bankrupt quickly and painfully.
I don’t remember seeing them when I was in Plan City, Florida. Nor have I seen them In Alabama.
Out with Penzey, in with McCormacks.
Never heard of Penzey’s spices......I’ll be sure this is the last time I ever do.........;)

After Eric Trump aviary employee spat on him wilkinson said she supported the employee.
This guy hated conservatives long before Trump. He’s just a typical #votebluenomatterwho liberal with a mental disorder, but I repeat myself.
I quit using his spices about 10 years ago because of his stupid rants in his newsletter; Trump was not even a speck of dust on the horizon. Like all leftists, he’s dishonest and a liar.
I think you nailed it. And I, too, noticed the change/tone of the catalog through the years.
Blech!
However - it’s great marketing to the ignorant SJW masses, that’s for sure; he was ahead of the curve on that. ;)
I was just reading about him on Wikipedia. It said he will not disclose his revenues yet he claims his business increased when he criticized Trump. The guy comes across as utter BS artist........

Oh, that’s smart.

Tweeted to the company that alienating 65% of potential customers was a stupid business model - for many of us it’s also the 1st time we ever heard of them.
I found Frontier Co-op on Amazon.com. While they don’t have a large selection, the pizza seasoning is the best.
Frontier Pizza Seasoning, 1.04-Ounce Bottle $3.14.
Lots of dopes doing ‘business’ out there these days!
Thanks for adding that!
