It isn't likely. They'd have to impeach Pence and Trump simultaneously in order to avoid whichever one is impeached second naming his own VP beforehand, avoiding the line of succession that seats President Pelosi... It's a nice proggie wet dream until you consider it's also the coup d'etat that makes the civil war go hot.

Dems will work this thing in stages and sure they would go for president Pelosi as holding spot-they have three big advantages in all this-1) mainstream media , 2) large minority block voting w growing hispanic population 3) Dems march in lock step-they don’t criticize each other like conservatives or GOP does-just look at some of the circular firing squad comments on here on George P Bush, Lindsey Graham etc

Hot Air’s Allapundit has a theory and it goes like this. President Trump, along with many Republicans, myself included, see the Democrats impeachment inquiry as another coup attempt. The thinking is, that if lawmakers call for Pence to be impeached along with Trump, it’s the same as saying that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should be President. If the Senate ever voted to remove Trump or Pence, or especially both of them, the GOP would be done as a party.
