Todays Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
So, James Comey walks free, for now. That was the big uproar on Thursday, and my only question is why did the media and politicians treat it as if was some sort of news? We have known for three solid weeks now that the Department of Justice had decided not to prosecute the nations most prominent Teenage Drama Queen for his rampant internal malfeasance. So, why was everyone tossing such a fit about it?
Assuming William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham really are performing an investigation into the origins of Spygate which is far from a safe assumption at this point I can even understand the rationale behind merely humiliating Comey with yesterdays Inspector General report documenting his serial leaking of FBI documents. After all, the Department of Justice theoretically does not possess unlimited resources to pursue every case that comes its way unless your name is Roger Stone or Paul Manafort, of course so better to conserve those resources for prosecuting Comeys role in the failed coup detat that was mounted within the FBI and other agencies against President Donald Trump throughout 2016 and 2017.
Still, with every tweet he issues and every TV appearance he makes, Comey personifies the dual system of justice that continues to exist in our country. Because the simple fact of the matter is that if you or I leaked FBI documents to the New York Times, whether directly or through a friend, you or I would be spending time in the federal pokey.
It is now crystal clear that former Attorney General Jeff Sessions never had any intention of lifting a finger to end that duality within our justice system, and we have all hoped William Barr would be different. Yet, here we sit, fully six months into Barrs term in office without having seen a single perp walk, indictment, or even any clear indication that he or Durham have taken the step of convening a grand jury. We did, finally, at long last, get the latest IG report from the plodding Michael Horowitzs office on Thursday, and it turns out to be just another exercise in finger shaking a just another naughty boy that produces no real result and no real public satisfaction that anything real is actually being done.
The next bit of Horowitz-produced Kabuki theater, his full report on the abuse of the FISA process that enabled the Spygate operation to take place, will be the next shoe to drop. The public record is damning on Comeys role in all of that he lied repeatedly to the FISA court about the veracity of the Steele Dossiere and its contents. He put his personal signature on FISA applications that he knew to be outright frauds on the Court, a reality borne out by his own testimony before congress. We know the same about Rod Rosenstein, Sally Yates and others.
Supposedly that long-overdue report will drop shortly after Labor Day. Supposedly. Will it contain any criminal referrals, and if it does, will they be pursued by the DOJ? Thats an open question. After all, Horowitzs April 2018 report targeting Andrew McCabe contained criminal referrals, and the only thing DOJ did to McCabe was fire him. Today, McCabe is not only a free man, he is a highly-paid contributor to CNN. He and Comey probably popped the cork on a bottle of Dom last night to celebrate Comeys continuing liberty.
Rumors have been flying around this week that Barr and Durham are indeed about to finally, at long last indict McCabe for his various well-documented crimes. If so, that would represent a good start. But it would be just a start.
If it is really his true intention to try to restore Americans faith in our system of justice, William Barr has miles to go before he sleeps.
That is all
Re:”... James Comey walks free, for now..”
Correction: James Comey walks free.
Our justice system has Obama’d itself with Obamastuff until the Hillabeast and Comey are in Federal Prison.
You know, the one where Epstein committed “suicide”.
Prediction: The IG report on FISA will find all kinds of bad acts conducted by Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Brennan, etc. but will say we did not find any booklet labelled “Plan to Overthrow the President.” Because of that, the DOJ will conclude that none of the bad acts are worthy of prosecution.
But Jim says you're welcome here, so pimp away to your heart's content.
Barr and the entire DOJ are corrupt. No one will spend a day in prison.
I think (hope) Trump is holding off on prosecuting these guys and HIllary et al until after he’s re-elected. IF he does it in his first term it’s the ONLY thing he would have to focus on and nothing else would really have gotten done. And he probably wouldn’t have gotten re-elected. AS it is I think he’s a shoo in for another term and then he takes on Washington corruption.

too late form my vote. I voted on his promises already . The next vote from me will be based on results. You don’t let major sedition and other crimes go 4 years unpublished.
But all and all the war till now has been rather civil, now that normals are waking up and fighting back its going to get a bit crazy
Why so aggrieved? What did this poster do wrong or is it a who thing?
For what? He's not being charged with anything.
okay fair enough - pimping ain’t easy though
LOL. Man, you need to get some semblance of a life. F off.
OK, now wait a minute. You spend your day posting idiotic blogs no one cares about hoping to get clicks for pennies, and I’M the one who needs a life? Lol. I was very respectful in my well-placed criticism, but you have proven yourself to be a loser blog-pimper. And I guarantee my life has more purpose than yours ever will.
Yes and the Trump’s DOJ can take that immunity away.
I write 700 to 1000 words of actual content every day, content that is read by many thousands of individuals across the country. I do that before 7:00 a.m. then go work at my actual job.
You spend your day sniping at other people on an internet bulletin board, and probably stroking fellow grumps like Mumblerumbler.
I’m happy for the comparison. Thanks.
I love Blackmons blog.
Barr is a Bush man. Oh yes, hes going to end the dual justice system crisis - on the twelfth. The twelfth of never /s
Ignore the trolls.
It’s his blog.
I don’t even look at him as a blogger, more a journalist. He should join Epoch w/ Cates.
Imagining Comey, Clinton, Muller or any of these folks will ever see any sort of consequences is a fools dream. There is zero chance of it happening.
I disagree, it is LESS than zero!!
The wordsmiths may be out big time but the central theme will be “they did not intend to do anything illegal”. See, intent is in the eyes of the beholder on all accounts. Forget they changed the intent basis in some laws long ago to something akin to “should have known”. Yeah, the head of the FBI could not be prosecuted because he did not know he should not do something all the while he has authorized investigations on people for less. Especially for those lackeys working under him who REDRAFTED recommendations in reports to change wording that would have meant Hitlery violated the laws.
The only thing that will change DC is a SS27.
