There arent a whole lot of Republicans in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezs Queens and Bronx district, but the few there are all seem to want to run against the firebrand progressive congresswoman.
Seven Republicans have already filed with the Federal Election Commission to run for the seat next year, and at least one more is publicly considering a run.
Any Republican nominee will face distinctly long odds to unseat one of the highest profile members of Congress in an overwhelmingly Democratic district, but that has not stopped would-be challengers from lining up for the chance to take her on. And whoever ends up running in November is likely to get plenty of air time. Ocasio-Cortez has become as much a target of conservative media as she has a symbol of the newly energized left.
Shes fired everyone up, said Rey Solano, one of the slew of conservative challengers in the 14th Congressional district. Shes really annoyed a lot of people.

They should have a competition to see who can mix the best Fake Russian.
Candidates should run the Democrat primary for that district if they really want to win.
Nansi Pelousy said that even a glass of water can with that district if it has a (D) by the name.
Correct.
She can probably be primaried out, but there is no chance that seat will go to a Republican.
“She can probably be primaried out, but there is no chance that seat will go to a Republican.”
What happened to the guy she primaried out? I thought he would probably have another crack at her.
Someone should run as a Rat and then governor like a conservative. Happens in reverse all the time in the Repulsivcan party.
That would be wonderful! Drag the local Dem party to the center with conservative candidates. Attack the bartender on her home turf.
It could succeed if the talking points were properly designed. She really is a dimwit, and she's spent her charm.
Agreed. If I were calling the shots, I’d be looking for a more moderate Democrat, assuming one can be found in that district...
I’d just run a republican in the democrat primary. Run on being the representative of the district not a media superstar. Show up at churches, soccer games, shopping malls or anyplace the people gather to campaign. Real neighborhood retail politics. Then if you win, vote conservative, be a great in touch rep. who spends every weekend in the district helping people get issues resolved. Then after you’re re-elected come back to DC and change parties.
bump
If the democrats are smart, they’ll unseat her in the same way she got the seat in the first place.
However, the opposite will happen if conservatives continue to get outraged and all bent out of shape over this women. In that case, the Democrats will work to keep her right where she is.
Oh, I definitely think the Democrats will primary her out. In the meantime, she is a serious boon to the Republican cause. If she can jump enough sharks, there just might be a chance a Republican (or independent) could win her district.
I personally want her where she is for a long long time. Every time she opens her mouth she expresses in idiocy why the Dems cannot be trusted with power.
Alexandria O’Casey puts on a hell of a show. She is a top-notch politician. No chance of any Republican unseating her. I don’t agree with her Che Guevara style communism, but still recognize her charisma. Only PDJT does it better.
Excellent idea, but, from what I hear, Republicans - especially conservative ones - are as rare as hens’ teeth in that district.
