It looks like #TBT was a hit. And social media chatter to the contrary I still believe Tucker has simply gone fishing.

Which means its still summer, although look out, its going fast.
Therefore - as chief blog functionary I hereby declare today officially a follow-on to #TBT which is to say, Flashback Friday (#FBF). Whats the difference? Duh, its Friday.
Do feel free to discuss the NYT gear-grinding shift out of Russia, Russia, Russia! into Racist, Racist, Racist!! if you like. Or chortle over Israels masterful b***h-slapping of a couple of anti-Semite b*****s if youre in the mood for a feel good story. Just dont forget to include the part about Israels humanitarian decision to reverse their ban on hate-mongering Rashida after she groveled for permission to visit granny one last time.
But for my last few weeks of summer joy I choose to focus on #FBF fashions. I always looked forward to the yuge August issues of such luminary bibles of back-to-school trends as Seventeen, Glamour, Mademoiselle and Vogue. What a glorious time to be young! And need back-to-school clothes.
Such fabulous fashion from the likes of Garland:

John Meyer of Norway:

Villager:

Ladybug:

This is what coeds wore in the 60s, a Villager pintucked, belted shirtwaist sheath dress:

But hey, these are cute too, from the 2019 collection:

And not to leave the guys out: mens fashion in the way-back was fun too:
Behold, the roots of soy-boy
Oy! Something took a wrong turn in the 70s and seemingly never looked back. After the Summer of Love innocent young love never quite seemed the same.

Nor did the cars.

Nothing was the same after Woodstock. Pity, really.

Woodstock was a symptom, not the cause
I guess the writer forgot how the adults back then thought those 50s fashions were degenerate too, not to mention the satanic rock & roll music (e.g. Elvis) that encouraged fornication and immoral behavior?

Hundreds of thousands of hippies at an outdoor concert just doesn't do it for me. The best live rock album of all time was recorded in the 2,700-seat Fillmore East venue in New York City by this legendary southern rock band.
Woodstock killed the Fillmore and theater shows (2 performances a night).
It ushered in corporate rock and stadium tours.
THE BEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND EVER!!
Awesome. Their live performances sound better than the STUDIO tracks for most musicians. Thats unbelievable.
Pic of democommie p-residential contestants? LOL!

Yes!
IMHO the bass played by Berry Oakley on Whipping Post on that album is pretty much the best bass playing there ever was. Live or in studio.
Starts in 11/8 time and then turns into a 6/8 time groove.
And what a groove it is. That guy just breathed in and out of that bass.
When I was in 8th grade, a boy I “liked” had 2 pair of the plaid polyester slacks. One in a red plaid and one in green/navy plaid. Looking back, he was kind of icky. But I google-searched for him a few years ago, and he had passed away as a young man.
I remember my favorite two outfits in early high school were made up of bright turquoise and bright yellow (separate pairs) jeans, with some very basic striped tee shirt tops. On the FIRST day of high school, I wore some totally inappropriate for hot weather outfit, which was burgundy corduroy pants and a flowered/ruffly long sleeve blouse.
Played it last night. Not the filmore, One Way Out.
Let’s just say, music went downhill from that era.
Girls with bare midriffs & miniskirts in high school?
Where were they when I was in HS?
