You Libs opened the sewage backflow valve. Don't complain about the smell. I Rest My Case

Nate Silver was the first to criticize the New York Times headline yesterday, “Not sure 'TRUMP URGES UNITY VS. RACISM’ is how I would have framed the story.”

Well of course not, it doesn’t say “Orange Man Bad!”

Meanwhile Ohio Rep. Candice Keller took to Facebook to assail the real reasons behind these crimes and was of course instantly assailed for it:

Criticism of her comments came fast and furious from every front, including Butler County Republican Party Chairman Todd Hall who said this was a time for prayer and reflection – not accusatory comments like Keller's. Again, of course: accusatory comments regarding shootings are the exclusive purview of the progressive left.

But back to the NYT headline, “TRUMP URGES UNITY VS. RACISM.” Following Nate Silver’s tweet they were instantly condemned by such luminaries as AOC, Corey Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand and Beto O’Rourke. In case you can’t figure out why, it’s that it was, uh, too neutral. As explained by the Washington Post that’s just wrong, wrong, wrong:

For many, the headline fell short of the expectations placed on media outlets in the Trump era to provide context, and in some cases fact-checking, when reporting on the president’s remarks.

AOC’s criticism spelled it out best:

"Let this front page serve as a reminder of how white supremacy is aided by – and often relies upon – the cowardice of mainstream institutions."

Naturally, the venerable NYT caved and came up with a more suitable alternative for the second addition: “ASSAILING HATE BUT NOT GUNS.” There you go! That’s more like it: “Orange Man Bad!”

Here’s my two cents, directed at the progressive left that runs Hollywood, Big Education, Big Government and Big Tech: if you’re the one who opened the backflow valve on the sewer line you have no right to criticize the smell of sewage everywhere.

Or in the immortal words of Bill Maher: “Hollywood isn’t your cesspool, America. It’s your mirror.”

I rest my case:

Copied from another site:

A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below.
She shouts to him, “Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.” The man consults his portable GPS and replies, “You’re in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolls her eyes and says, “You must be a Republican!” “I am,” replies the man. “How did you know?” “Well,” answers the balloonist, “everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’re not much help to me.”

The man smiles and responds, “You must be a Democrat.” “I am, replies the balloonist. “How did you know?”
“Well,” says the man, “You don’t know where you are or where you’re going. You’ve risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You’re in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it’s my fault.”

Hollywood is the reflection of real America? I don’t think so. It created the cellpool the day the Hayes Code fell.

“Ohio Rep. Candice Keller took to Facebook to assail the real reasons behind these crimes and was of course instantly assailed for it”

Though they love to use the phrase, the last thing that lefties want to hear is “truth spoken to power”—the power of the media, education bureaucracy, Hollyweird, government functionaries, etc.

“It created the cellpool the day the Hayes Code fell.”

Indeed. They understood in those days how powerful a medium film was, and how therefore it had to be restrained. And those restraints were spelled out exactly. All films were for all audiences.

We had lots of great films before then (1939 may have been Hollywood’s greatest year). Not so much since then...

The entire future of the libtards is dependent on the Brown Shirt Media’s ability to bend reality in their behalf. They all know it. Why would they do anything to interfere with what is working and has worked for so many decades?

I’m a fan of pre-code movies which were more realistic than what came after the imposition of the Code. Still, you can see the rot there from the beginning. After WWII, filmmakers like George Stevens were fighting for a more realistic cinema. I think he got more than he bargained for, lol. He died before movies became completely unwatchable.

I don’t know how many Republican county chairmen you know, but MAGA types are a distinct minority.

Excellent! I’m stealing it. But I’ll change party affiliation to liberal/conservative.

I hate to put it this way but at least here in central Indiana the GOP establishment is a bunch of crooked AV Club pansies.

I mean you go to one city council meeting and call them a group of incompetent grifters (accurate) and you call out the Mayor whose transport company is in chapter 11 and point out only an financial idiot would in the current economy (Transport is booming here) run his company into the ground like he is doing with city finances and the hands go straight to their pearls.

Oh you should see some of the grift going on here. A 130M facility built on land the city does not own but leases from relatives of the Mayor. Crap like that.

It is very sad but we will not be free until the GOP is destroyed, and yes, that means we are going to have to fight our way out of what follows.
