In an effort to boost his flagging hopes, presidential candidate former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Tex) glommed onto the case of an Abilene man as an example of “a more humane economic policy than the work-work-work model that President Trump has been imposing on our country.”
In Abilene, an individual posing as a wheelchair-bound homeless man has been raking in an average of $1,000 per week begging for money at the intersection of Hwy 83/84 and FM 707 every Saturday and Sunday. The man is neither disabled nor homeless. He characterizes his activity as “street theater. I play a part and my audience rewards me for my performance.”
O’Rourke praised “the creative ingenuity that can serve as an example of how individuals can pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and enjoy a better life. It’s not entirely unlike my own story where I’ve played the part of a trans-Latino and been rewarded by voters electing me to Congress for my performance. We have millions of street corners in America where others can emulate this man. It’s less confining than a regular job. A person is his own boss. He can set his own hours. He can enjoy more leisure time.”
The former Congressman vowed “to establish a program to train others on how to exploit this virtually untapped opportunity if I’m fortunate enough to be elected president in 2020.”

It obviously takes a liar or an idiot to recognize another. Beto would love it up here in Tacoma where we have a number of panhandlers that use a van for carpooling back to Seattle where they all own homes from cheating and lying to
the public who worked for their money.

Over the years I have read thousands of posts to Free Republic and hundreds of your posts.
The vast majority of the posts by others are informative, interesting, amusing, or helpful. None of your posts exhibit any of these positive characteristics. Your posts seem obsessed by the idea that someone, somewhere might earn some income off of blogging. I am not one of them, but I see nothing wrong with those who do.
You appear to put a lot of energy into putting other members of the Free Republic community’s efforts to oppose the enemies of freedom down. These people deserve respect and gratitude for attempting to help liberty win the battle against tyranny. Your gripes and ridicule of these attempts contribute nothing but sour grapes to this battle. Ideally, you could invest your efforts in support of the cause of freedom. Instead you try to sow discord.
The battle for liberty needs every ally it can get. In the future, I hope you can overcome your petty grievances and divert your energy toward assisting in this fight by posting articles or comments that aid the cause of freedom and/or encourage those who are endeavoring to win this fight.
