Last week I returned to a dentist I had 3 years ago. 3 years ago I needed a tooth filled and could not get in touch with this guy so I found someone else. I did not know my dentist was in a coma. I learned last week from him that he’d had a heart attack, followed by a stroke, and then some diabetes episode that put him into a coma. 53 years old. 3-1/2 weeks into his coma he had no brain activity and was declared brain dead and the doctors started making arrangement for organ donor recipients. 3 days after being declared brain dead they wheeled him into an operating room with the intention of harvesting his organs.
He sat up and got off the operating table only a few minutes before they were going to carve him up.
7 days ago, I got my teeth cleaned and a small cavity filled.
So, what the Hell is brain death? Is it just some legal mechanism to allow doctor off the hook on murder if they carve you up for parts?

if he were a murdering Islamic terrorist,
France would protect him forever.
Is the family being prevented from taking him from the hospital, as with the Charlie Gard case?
If they have the legal right to take him, they should take him out of there.
Oh, they call it "treating" him now. I see.

Several years ago my husband and I visited Italy. We arrived during a severe thunderstorm and took a cab to our pensione. It was still raining and there were no lights in the forecourt of our building. I tripped over a 4” marble slab (I think they were trying to stop motorbikes from using the tiny elevator in the building), smashing my face and nearly losing consciousness. I made it up to our minuscule room (at least the air conditioner worked) and told my husband ‘don’t let me die in Italy’. Before the evening was over, I had two black eyes and severe pain, but I wouldn’t go to any medical facility.
National Healthcare is not designed to do everything it can to help you. It is designed to do the least possible while absorbing as much taxpayer monies as possible. BTW, this incident was a few weeks after James Gandolfini had passed away in a Rome hotel and his room was burglarized after his death.
