Well not exactly, while the articles returned do mention Weismann, it is not in connection with him being involved with FISA warrant applications.

From the 1st article I glanced at:

Ohr’s testimony also had a stunning revelation that Andrew Weissmann, who was then head of the DOJ’s Criminal Fraud section and now Deputy Special Counsel for Robert Mueller, was also briefed by Ohr on his meetings with Steele. Those briefings took place during the summer of 2016, shortly after Ohr had met with Steele. The testimony, which has not yet been made public, was authenticated by sources from congressional testimony to SaraACarter.com.

From the second one I glanced at:

“Andrew Weissmann, who was then head of the DOJ’s Criminal Fraud section and now Deputy Special Counsel for Robert Mueller, was also briefed by Ohr on his meetings with Steele during the summer of 2016,” Carter writes.

Pretty much all of them are related stories of the same story, namely that Andrew Weissmann was the head of the DOJ’s Criminal Fraud section when Ohr briefed DOJ & FBI that it was opposition research paid for by Clinton and the DNC, and that none of the information had been vetted. Again, nothing related to securing FISA warrants. Let me remind you again what the statement was:

Strzok and Andrew Weissmann used the Clinton, DNC Kremlin disinformation Steele dossier to illegally obtain FISA warrants against Carter Page.

Weissmann & Strzok had knowledge of the illegality being perpetrated, however, neither participated in securing the FISA warrants. Thus I have a problem with that statement as written, and that was my point.

I used to muse...One does not have to be real intelligent to pick up a report on WWII and the first paragraph cites the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1940 kind of makes me suspect ANYTHING else in the report when the one thing I am ‘sure of’ is miscorrectly represented.

Sure seems like I have heard Bongino saying exactly this for a year now... But maybe I am wrong.

The October 2016 FISA application and January 2017 FISA renewal were both approved by then-FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.

Former FBI Deputy General Counsel Trisha Anderson testified to the House Judiciary and Oversight committees in August 2018 about the “unusual way” that the first FISA request was handled, with approval coming from Yates and then-Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe before it reached her desk, contradicting the normal path that the FISA applications take and leading her to not feel the need to second-guess her higher-ups.

The April 2017 FISA renewal was approved by Comey and by Dana Boente. Boente is the only signatory still remaining in active government service, working as the Trump administration’s top lawyer at the FBI starting in January 2018.

The June 2017 FISA renewal was approved by McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
