This video reveals what almost everybody is reluctant to admit out loud: WHY Arnold Schwarzenegger was attacked in South Africa. It is a delicate subject but I don't refrain in spelling out the reason for the attack even though it will make many uncomfortable to face the truth.
It wasn’t. It was meant to do some damage.
ditto. Not close, and surprised he would do this.
Youve been here since 2000 and you cant figure out the humor in the post?
Methinks some folks here not having never watched your previous videos don’t get the humor connection or the irony of your own anti-landscape alignment.
Ha! Ha! I was getting mad at you for the same reason!
I was punk’d!!
Yup! I take them all the time. Just 3 days ago I took one of wild baby geese frolicking on the grass near me, while some others swam out in the pond beyond. I did it vertically so I could zoom in as far as possible on both groups and have them together in one clip.
And often when I want to slow pan from L to R over a tall scene, where I'm unable to back up to capture the entire height in landscape mode, I pan in Portrait / vertical mode. Believe it or not, this way actually turns out much better than holding the phone horizontally and moving it up & down repeatedy while panning, thus simulating a cameraman on a trampoline.
But obviously you know a lot more about my vertical videos than I do, making you a Master of Clairvoyance. So I see I will have to go rerun them over & over to figure out what exactly I am missing that you see so clearly.
Can you at least please help me save time by giving me a hint as to the nature of what I should be seeing? Something that should trigger hysterical laughing? Or trigger rage? This poor ignorant amateur videographer in Flyover Country humbly beseeches your indulgence.
Who cares
You got me there. I'm ashamed to admit that after 18.5 years, I still have yet to start compiling a mega list of every American cultural meme that has ever been mentioned in any FR post. Mea culpa.
Can you post your master list for my edification? Better put it on dropbox, as the size would clearly blow FR's posting limits out of the water.
And BTW, yes, I instantly got the bit of humor re someone posting a vertical video that is complaining about vertical videos. But since that seems to be secondary humor tacked on to whatever the elusive primary humor is supposed to be, I assumed that a less-than-well-known cultural reference is at play.
It's now becoming apparent that some people have a seriously negative "trigger" regarding any video that's taken vertically. In addition, they assume their reaction is the only normal one, and expect every other person to have the same reaction. That is why they can't understand why others don't see the same humor they do in this video.
Just to make a stab in the dark guess as to the discrepancy in people's viewpoints here:
HA! Yes. You’re getting close.
As the father of a millennial (who just graduated today with a BS in Biomedical Science), it’s a running argument I have with her and those of her generation. In fact, I had to argue with my niece to take our photo horizontally today!
You rightly point out the most common form factor that Millennials view photos and video is a phone in portrait (vertical) mode. Thus they’ve been conditioned to capture images vertically.
For those of us who have been taking photos for more than 10 years, it’s crazy annoying to see vertical photos that aren’t portraits or fashion shots. Video in portrait mode drives me bonkers!
So yes, it’s a generational thing. But my view is this: If God wanted us to view photos and images vertically, our eyes would be aligned likewise on our faces! :-D
You’re too kind.
His body guard looked like he was going to rip his neck off. Maybe that’s in another video.
Of corpse, you do.
Yer an ‘Merican
I understand your “No Spoilers” how ever I have an ear infection in both ears and cannot hear what the man is saying so would you please PM me so I can understand too
