Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complained Sunday that GOP fact-checkers were taking her “dry humor” literally.
“This is a technique of the GOP, to take dry humor + sarcasm literally and ‘fact check’ it,” she tweeted. “Like the ‘world ending in 12 years’ thing, you’d have to have the social intelligence of a sea sponge to think it’s literal. But the GOP is basically Dwight from ‘The Office’ so who knows.”

And when Ocasio-Cortez first made the claim, she certainly appeared to be playing up the absurdity of the statement for effect.

They certainly were desperate to believe that he meant it and it was pretty comical to watch. “He’s asking the Russians to get Hillary’s emails for him” after it had been announced here that they’d been DESTROYED!!! Not much different from his statement after Charlottesville, VA when WE understood what he meant but THEY chose to believe he meant THE BAD GUYS were the GOOD GUYS that day. AND by golly, THAT was the worst thing that Biden can remember ever happening in this country!!! That’s what he said!
It doesn’t matter how many times they end up on the wrong end of the stick, they keep plugging away and live to make more idiotic statements day after day... Nothing ever changes.

Well, I clicked at the link and didn’t see Johnson - that’s OK I know what the idiot said and what he stands for but I’m sitting here with my mouth hanging open because I CANNOT believe there are people in this country - or anywhere - stupid enough to sit and listen to that woman for nearly 10 minutes. She barely takes a breath and what on earth did she say that meant anything? Is that what her show is like? Good grief. We have more problems than I thought if that’s what people are listening to....
