I’m so old I remember when the Left was outraged to the point of hysteria by a comment made by Rush Limbaugh made about Barack Hussein Obama –“I hope he fails.” Although he was clearly speaking of the policies he intended to implement in order to “fundamentally transform America” the left screamed for Rush’s head, accused him of everything from perfidy to sedition. Incivility had already crept into the body politic with the Bush era but now we had irreconcilable sectarianism. It was the beginning of a new political nontolerance movement. That point at which working through differences became insurmountable and disagreeing with the opposition progressed from being considered obstructionist to being treasonous.
Except it doesn’t work that way when the Left opposes Trump. That’s different because, shut up.
The Left is free to not only hope Trump fails but to actively form a Resistance Movement - that includes most of the Mainstream Media - dedicated to taking him down.
The Resistance is so strong that they can even take good news for America and create a false narrative to make it bad. Take the 2017 tax cut for example: despite the fact nearly everyone in the country who pays taxes got a tax cut MSM has convinced you otherwise. Headlines blare about “Tax Returns Are Lower This Year” and celebrities with marginal knowledge of math and economics use their social media platforms to help spread the lie.
OMG! That means the government withheld $6 BILLION (!) less from peoples paychecks! Six BILLION dollars that they, instead of the government, got to use all year. You do know that this means there was $6 BILLION more circulating in the economy, Making America Great Again, right? And you do know that tax withholding was never intended as a personal savings plan, right?
No, I didn’t think so. You only know what the propagandists want you to know.
That’s why they love influential idiots like you; you do their work for them. Yes, you are the useful idiots.

I had hoped the Constitution would be upheld and Obama would be kept out of the office that the Constitution says he may not hold.
I believe that comment by Rush Limbaugh is being used by the Left to justify and excuse everything they’re doing to PDJT.
Leftist politicos are actively working to cause failure of or failure to launch of Trump policies. All Rush did was tell the truth about Obama.
So Congress and President Trumpgave the public a tax cutallowed the people to keep more of their own money - but because they didn’t force the people to lend it to the government interest-free, people don’t get big "refunds.” And people are supposed to be mad at Republican for that?

As a Sovereign Citizen I don’t have to pay taxes.
A co-worker was crabbing last week about how her refund was going to be “less than usual”, and made some derogatory comments about Donald Trump being the reason for the lower refund.
Another co-worker asked her, “...but weren’t your paychecks larger due to the lower withholding?”, and the complaining, Trump-hater said yes, but it had not occurred to her to change her withholding status or that it would impact her refund.
I suppose this type of person is a lost cause?
If democrats really cared about taxes going down, they have the power to do something about it.
They could enact spending cuts and trim the budget in serious ways.

2) The NM household had more income exposed to taxation in 2018 than in 2017.
3) The NM household paid slightly less total Federal income tax in 2018 than in 2017.
4) The NM household had significantly less money withheld for Federal income taxes in 2018 than in 2017

5) The NM household paid significantly more to FedzillaIRS on 15APR2019 than on 15APR2018.

I got creamed on taxes. Tragedy, right?
Not exactly.
I made a lot more money in 2018 than in 2017. Because I’m self-employed my quarterly payments were based on my 2017 earnings. Thus I had to pay more taxes. I also had more money in the bank even after paying my taxes.
Now the part that does suck which is not the fault of trump or the tax cuts, is that almost 2/3 of what I had to give the government was Social Security taxes. I’m self-employed so the government charges me a higher rate to make up for not having an employer.
On the other hand, my brother-in-law’s half-wit commie wife was convinced that Trump raised her taxes. She is from New York and she is a retired teacher, her math skills are almost non-existent when it comes to economics. It took her husband years to get her to understand that her paycheck after deductions was not what she earned. He also had a great deal of difficulty explaining to her that her nearly free medical insurance was income.
They both voted for Obama twice and Hillary.
If only that were true....

I love math, it’s just a game. However, math has taught me how stupid I am. I’m unfortunately smart enough to know how dumb I am! I can’t understand how someone thinks he/she is smarter than you. I don’t care about what I know, I’m working on what I don’t understand.
