As In The Days Of Noah
Renew America ^ | April 9, 2019 | Gina Miller

In recent years, I've noticed a messaging trend in columns, commentary and sermons regarding a section of Scripture in Matthew 24. It's the, "As in the days of Noah," passage, and I believe some people are missing its central meaning. The point they make is that when the Lord returns, the world will be sinful like in the days of Noah, and as proof they use this part of the verse:

"38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage..."

In part, they claim it refers to the corruption of marriage, as in same-sex "marriage," but that's not what Jesus is saying there. Yes, when the Lord returns there will be horrible, rampant sin in the world, but the sinfulness will be worse than in the days of Noah. Remember what Jesus said earlier in verses 21-22:

"21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."

What is yet to come is unimaginably worse than anything the world has ever seen. The sinfulness, the tribulation, everything will be worse even than in the days of Noah. It will be terrible, but look at the context of what Jesus is saying in the, "as in the days of Noah," passage. In Matthew 24, He is speaking to His disciples of the events that will lead up to His return and the return itself, and starting in verse 36, He pivots to the exact time of His return:

"36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh."

Jesus is making the point that His return will be sudden and will catch people unaware, so Christians must always watch and be ready. As in the days of Noah, everyone was living his life as usual, eating and drinking, marrying, going to work, going to sleep at night, and they were all unaware until suddenly the flood came and took them away.

That's how it will be at the end of this world when Jesus comes back and gathers His church. Then, two will be working by each other, and very suddenly, one will be taken and the other left. Jesus takes his church and leaves behind those who refused Him. And because Jesus has warned us in what He says here in Matthew 24 and what He says through His prophets, like Daniel, John in Revelation and others, we need not be caught off-guard by His return.

For those who are not Christians: If you have read this far and have not accepted the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, then please know that everyone is accountable to God Who made us. There is only one Way to God, and that is through His Son Jesus, alone. Whether you believe or not, one of two people will pay for your sins: either you or Jesus. That's why Jesus came into this world, God in human form, and gave His innocent, sinless life on the cross, because of His great love for us. It was to pay the price for sin that none of us could ever pay, to redeem the lost and remake the bridge between God and man that Adam broke.

Seek Jesus today, while you still can. If you seek Him, you will find Him. Grab a Bible and read it. What you need to know is in there.

Today’s world would make the Days of Noah like some serene day in the park.

I believe it will get worse and worse and they will not see for their eyes are blinded. I believe Jesus will appear in the clouds just as he went up, .. to take His people out before the 7 yrs., and will return after for a new earth where satan will be bound for 1000 years.

We know time is short, For those of us seniors, who lived to enjoy a time when life was less stress .... a man’s word was true .. when neighbors helped neighbors. when laws were obeyed .. before kids grew to rebel like they do now.. when there was a morality in society. when parents taught respect and accountability.. when the Bible was in schools .. when life was so much different than it is today... There is no way to express how much has changed... it’s hard to watch the news and to see how they treat our President.. the disrespect from the left is from the pit .. how these people think this way of life is fine... is beyond my understanding.. except to realize we are in a spiritual battle for the soul of America... that its light still shine in the world... and the other side wants it put out.

Remove the United States from the power we have, and there will be a vacuum like never before.. evil will seem to triumph.... for a time.

If we look at all this, we can see the Hand of God in many things. They have tried to take Trump out and at every turn, they can’t. They have thrown all they have at him and he is still working for us... every day he goes at it again... not another man could take all that and stay the course.. every day!

I do hope you're right, Junkie, but I don't see in Scripture that we're getting out of this deal--the tribulation period. Of course, we're not going to receive God's wrath, but I know He will protect us in many ways during that time. We may get our heads cut off, but we won't receive His wrath.

Thessalonians 4:13-on
We meet the Lord in the air, but then later Jesus comes back to earth. The meeting in the clouds is a rapture.. i dont believe Jesus bride will be subject to wrath.

But you are sound in believing God can supernaturally get us through anything. Stephen did not feel the rocks as they killed him.

I am witness to super natural power of God in the midst of the worst.

No. Not really. You can’t say that today all flesh is corrupted. Nor are “godlings” chasing after women.

The prophet Isaiah speaks about the harpazo (rapture)

“Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O Lord. We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen. Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.”
Isaiah 26:17-21 KJV

The grace age ends when the church meets with Lord in the air. The God takes up His program with Israel. The tribulation or the time of Jacobs Trouble

Indeed the tribulation is upon us and we are in its midst. Great evil is done in the name of authority. The Church has lost its way. The greatest human slaughter in history continues daily among us with the death of 100,000,000 of our most precious babies. Can there be greater evil than this? No. We are drowning in our sin. It is ever before us.
When good men attack evil it is not defeated but grows more surly and seeks to do greater evil. We may drive it into a corner but it will strike out until it is utterly destroyed.
Even in its destruction evil may have the greater victory if its very devices are used against it. Evil done to destroy evil is no good but merely a perpetuation of evil.
We are a people who have given up on God and seek, instead, our own authority. We have dethroned the Living God and replaced Him with ourselves. We are confident in our power to control the earth; to rid our world of evil; to save ourselves from the privations of the world; to become as gods. We are damned by our own will. There is no good in us.

Only by prayer and abject humility before God, out True Father, can there be any light in our lives. Only by hiding in the Rock of our Salvation, Jesus Christ, who alone is blameless and without sin, can we be brought into a right relationship with out Father. That is our only hope and it is fast dimming before our eyes as we race into darkness at the speed of light.

Well since we don’t know exactly what was going on back then but in the last hundred years the way humanity has treated each other I still say that Noah’s day was a walk in the park.

If you don’t know what was going on back in Noah’s day, how can you compare it with what is going on today?

Just saying that all we have is “as in the days of Noah” per the Bible. No graphic scenes plus how they saw it vs what we experience. Heck, I bet the Romans were worse.

What was going on in the days of Noah is fairly well explained in Genesis 6.
